Aces & Eights happened on national television with the second-biggest wrestling company in the country while Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were around. And yet, nothing happens.

WWE decides to use the same gimmick and people take to it and Shield gets over.

Yes, the reason for Shield wearing masks was Aces and Eights, it had absolutely nothing to do with a certain movie that opened the weekend they first wore them. It's just a coincidence that they wore them for the first time at Wrestlemania 30, which was the same weekend that Winter Soldier opened.
