The Falcons beating the Rams doesn't especially shock me. The Rams always struck me as the proverbial "One Year Away" type team and an experienced NFC champion type team should beat them. I never, ever like it when someone tanks that last game by resting guys the way they did vs. the Niners last week. Add to it ATL was hungry and needed to win last week to get in and you have a veteran, zoned in team vs. guys who dicked around last week and rested. That's a bad combo for the Rams. Who knows how big their window is though? SF is coming next year with Jimmy G. Pump the brakes on Jimmy G for a bit. The 49ers are a dozen flaws away from being competitive. And as good as Jimmy G looked (and I think he'll eventually be a top 5 QB in the NFL) he threw 7 TDs and 5 INTs this year. If you put his numbers into a full season he's got about 24 TDs and 15 INTs, he needs a lot more weapons around him. His QB rating puts him around what Tyrod Taylor did this past season.
He hasn't lost a game in 5 years and something needs to be said for having a winning persona, but it's not like the guy went out in 5 games threw 20 TDs and 0 INTs and just embarrassed other teams.
He threw 2 of those picks against our B team in the Coliseum. I'm pretty confident the Rams can handle Jimmy G, pending on what we bring back. We have to sort the cap out next season.

Ever since the NE SB rematch in October, feels like Atlanta has been written off and dismissed yet they keep winning games they've HAD to win.
Their defense has carried them in the 2nd half of the season and playoff experience cannot be discounted.

Damn shame what happened to the Chiefs. Their fans deserve better. Meanwhile.... I'm sorry, but there is nothing to like about Tennessee. If the Chiefs won, you'd he bitching about how they screwed Mariotta. But, you never reply to any if these retorts, so I will accept the longstanding belief you just hate anybody winning.

No way can you keep Reid after today Chiefs won the AFC West two years in a row and Reid has not had a losing season with the Chiefs. He's likely not going anywhere. Now next year the talk will be playoff win or disappointment. They are the Bengals west.

The Rams will have better days ahead of him.
Meanwhile, I think Atlanta is on the downswing and trying to maybe make something of their closing SB window.

How do you lose track of JULIO JONES there? As a fan of a team who has to face him every year twice, I can tell you that Julio Jones is one slippery individual and even if you have double coverage or your best guy on him, it takes some luck whether he catches the ball. He's that damn good of a receiver. He's the reason two years ago we went 15-1 instead of 16-0 in the regular season and even the dancing fool of an owner knows that. Yeah, that's not the point. As a guy whose assignment is Julio, why are you biting on run action on that last TD? This isn't a case of Julio beating a dude, which happens every game. Dude was too busy looking at the motion. If Julio makes a catch over a DB, that's one thing. But when you're out of position because Julio is the 2nd thing on your mind, you're straight up asking for it.

Now next year the talk will be playoff win or disappointment. They are the Bengals west. Eh, he could get Dungy'd again. He turned the Eagles around real good too, and still lost that job after only his 2nd losing season in the previous 12. He's 1-6 in the playoffs the last 9 seasons. And for as good a team-builder he is and for as great a cosch as he is, he's one of the worst late-game coaches in recent history.

His teams in recent history are good to great in the regular season but manage to go rear end up in the playoffs. That's coaching. Kelce goes down, and that sucks, but you're up 18 at home and can't figure out a way to close it out? That's coaching. You have a talented rookie RB and you only hand it off 11 times? That's coaching. Andy Reid sucks.

I don't trust the Falcons this year. I can easily see another "off" week and the Eagles beating them even if they can only score 14 total points

I definitely spoke too soon about that Chiefs/Titans game, but it's still a lousy result because I want to see something actually decent next week. If the Bills win today then we get Pats/Bills Squash Part 3 next week and the Steelers stomping the Titans again. Who could possibly care? At least if JAX wins today we can see if Roethlisberger can avenge his hideous 5 INT game. But then do we seriously want the Jags to beat the Steelers again since it means Blake Bortles would throw about 6 picks at NE in the AFC title game en route to a 42-7 stomping? The AFC is a dumpster fire.
As far as ATL/Philly goes next week I'd rather just have the Falcons win. We know the Eagles aren't a serious Super Bowl threat with Nick Foles, so whatever playoff win they get will only decrease interest. This isn't a Jeff Hostetler situation where he somehow guided the Giants to a Super Bowl run after Phil Simms got hurt. The Eagles have looked mighty ugly the past couple of games with Foles, so I have no real confidence in them beating the defending NFC champions next week. That said, NFC title game is basically the Falcons's glass ceiling this year. I just don't see them beating Minnesota, Carolina, or New Orleans on the road. Hypothetically speaking, what if they did? Then we'd have them in a rematch with New England so they can just tank it again, and I have absolutely zero interest in that.

Yesterday’s games honestly took some of the playoff juice out.
Instead, we get ANOTHER week of this Titans team and another week of Sark.

Jacksonville is going to have a tough go of things today. They obviously don't trust Bortles and they're not going to win just running up the gut with Lenny Forn

It's really starting to feel like if you handed him a briefcase filled with $1 million, tax free, no strings attached, not only would it be too heavy and should have been a direct deposit, the suitcase should have been a different material and the bills should have been a different denomination.
