The thing is, Edge could probably get away with another match and be fine, but that doesn't mean he really should.

He's got a wife and young children. It wouldn't be worth the risk of one match, because his health, safety, and family, are more important.

The thing with AJ is we don't exactly know how bad her damage is. She may still be in good enough shape for a one-off. But the point is why risk it for a one-off that ultimately means nothing? Yes, she's been coy over the extent of the damage, but the fact that she chose to retire while still the top star in the division and WWE simply let her leave rather than pull the same shit they do with every other talent they don't want to lose (Neville, Mysterio, Punk, etc.) suggests that it is bad enough to make the reward not worth the risk.

Sadly we probably won't know the whole story.

I would've loved to see a heel vs heel Edge vs Ambrose death match. Also a feud with Bryan, seems like a perfect contrast. Alas, I sincerelly doubt his neck could handle even squashing Heath Slater

Since Angle came back, we seem to be going backwards in mindset a little bit. Edge was forced to retire for a reason. So quickly that he retired as champ. Seemed like incredibly heavy stakes and a very urgent decision, but years later maybe just maybe he doesn't die. Eh? You guys ever think of that? Who's with me? Hopefully nobody.

So, my question is, with stenosis, does that mean, for the rest of his life, he has to worry any time he, say, bumps his head, he has to worry he could be paralyzed?
Or is it something that, while it doesn’t go away, so long as you’re not constantly punishing the spine, becomes manageable?

Or is it something that, while it doesn’t go away, so long as you’re not constantly punishing the spine, becomes manageable? It's a bit of both. While one really can't make an accurate speculation without knowing the severity of his condition, if it is as bad as we are led to believe then theoretically if he were to get whiplash from a car accident it could potentially paralyse or kill him. But in terms of day-to-day life the symptoms can be managed through stretching, exercise, weight control (which might explain why he basically had a regular guy body for the last few years of his career), and medication.
