Why can't people just stick to the good ol' fashioned trend of wasting food.
I swear, humanity just gets dumber & dumber.

I went to the Boundary Waters back in the 90's. Canoed, camped and fished for 2 weeks without hardly seeing another person or sign of modern life. We used iodine tabs and water filters on all our fresh water. One guy in the group decided that he was going to try some spring water, one time, straight up.
He was dead 4 months later. Total liver failure from a bug he picked up doing that.
You might like to try and pretend natural is always better, but nature doesn't really give a shit what you think. Nature is deadly.

*Not Applicable in Flint, Michigan, and an astonishingly long list of other cities. Yeah, the Flint water is bad enough WITH treatment. Drinking that garbage straight from the source is a death wish. Ron Magill of Zoo Miami made a good point about a related subject the other day on how predators and scavengers can eat raw or decaying meat without dying from disease and I imagine this applies to "raw" fresh water, too. Because they have built-in immunity to these things they gained over a long time because that's how evolution works: you adapt or you die. Most humans, especially in the developed world, wouldn't be able to adapt and if they did, it'd take a long-ass time. Our intellect and our endurance are humanity's greatest evolutionary achievements because they allow us to compensate for areas where we're otherwise lacking. Embracing this trend might just be a hard-learned lesson about natural selection.

Here's a sobering thought. Billions of people around the world have to rely on untreated water, & they have to deal with all kinds of illnesses and parasites.
And these people wanna sell untreated water for the price of a new video game?

I was doing volunteer in Fiji last year and the locals never really boiled their water properly, as a result I spent two days bedridden with the screaming shits. People who do this deserve water they consume.

The whole thing about raw diets in general is pretty weird. I don't think I've ever seen an advocate that hasn't come across as loopy
