Since this thread is titled 'some questions', I did have a few other questions that weren't specific to the forums, but I'm not sure if they'd be breaking the rules of the forum or not. Then read the rules.

Whatever, screw it, I'll just ask the questions. I'm not referring to anything particular thing when asking these, I'm just asking generally.
Question one - Why do people spread misinformation/ignorant claims about things/people when there are enough sources out there that prove them wrong?
Question two (let's not break the rules when answering this) - Is it illegal to follow pornstars on Twitter? Is the viewing of pornographic material immoral?
Question three (this question was going to be a possible followup to my 'should sex be outlawed' thread, but since that didn't go well...anyway, let's not break the forum rules with answering this) - Should drinking alcohol be outlawed?

It's been shown in studies that when people have beliefs, they stick to them. If you show them evidence they're wrong, a large percentage of people will stick to their guns even harder. 2. No 3. They tried it in the 1920s, lead to powerful gangs and a ton of murders and violence, so I'd say no.

That's just how it goes sometimes. Despite the wealth of information available at our fingertips, sometimes people will get stuff wrong. All you can do is trust yourself to verify the facts. 2. No, it's not illegal to follow pornstars on Twitter. Why would it be? Views on whether porn is immoral are up to your own personal beliefs, but you're not going to jail for following Bailey Jay or whoever. 3. My general opinion on "Should (insert currently legal thing here) be outlawed?" is no.

Confirmation bias is the answer to your first question. 2a. It is legal in the United States for anyone over 18 years of age to follow a pornstar on twitter. 2b. Morals are subjective. It is up to the individual to decide for themselves what is moral or immoral. These subjective morals are limited to that individual, and these subjective morals should not be applied to others. 3. In my opinion, and based on its history, alcohol sale and consumption should remain legal.

Watch Ken Burns' documentry on Prohibition to find out why it ended up so badly.
Oh and for the Pornstar twitter thing that would really depend on the country's laws. It is not illegal in the US and I highly doubt it is in Australia.

It is definitely illegal to follow porn stars on twitter, punishable by death regardless of what country you're in. I don't know why people spread misinformation on the internet, personally I would never do that.

Out of curiosity, why are you concerned about whether porn is immoral? I mean, unless you're watching it with someone, you're actually the only person seeing what you're watching. If it's offensive to you, don't watch it, lol; not a big deal.

1. Some people do it out of sense of humor, and maybe even misunderstanding, for all we know.
2. I don't use twitter much, and am not interested in porn, myself, but lots of people follow them on Twitter. I doubt they post sexual stuff, every time they tweet.
3. Drinking alcohol, at least in the states, is illegal, if you are under 21. If you are of age, and can drink responsibly, then there isn't a need for prohibition.

People are dumb and/or lazy and are way more apt to want something to confirm their biases regardless of whether it's factual.
Of course it isn't illegal. Why would you think it would be? Immoral just depends on your POV. Some would say yes, depending on their beliefs. Most wouldn't.
Tried that once, led to rampant crime in the 20s. Dumb idea.
