If I was to place a bet, I don't think there was any real shadiness around the shutdown. I don't buy that it was a full angle. I also don't buy the Chikara name rumors, or that it had anything to do with a divorce. Doesn't make sense. Without knowing how much it cost to run the Wrestling Is shows, my guess is money issues, and it was their way of covering it. But who knows. Also possible. I’d be willing to bet they lost a ton of money on that Joshimania weekend. Those shows didn’t draw well at all. Ringside tickets were inflated and they didn’t move well. A friend of mine went and significantly talked them down on the price at the arena in Philadelphia the day of the show. I also heard that the Wrestling Is promotions were partnerships. That Wrestling Is Respect was run by Delirious along with CHIKARA, for example. That probably kept costs down. I think Wrestling is Heart was also the old School of Roc run by Billy Roc. I think one of the other feds was Dasher's School. To answer why nobody said anything, any wrestler who was associated with CHIKARA at the time signed agreements not to speak about what was going on from what I've heard. And Condron has said a lot about Quack on twitter, his biggest issue is that Quack didn't pay him for his work as a producer and kept saying it was the experience... but also not giving him credit for the work he did.

Dasher was the Wrestling Is Fun promotion. I believe those NDAs lasted a year. They’ve expired. You also have to consider that people usually don't want to look petty or bitter. Hania gets fired from Impact and her name is in the news so people talk about what she’s been known for. The rumors come up. That’s obviously part of her legacy now. Now she’ll be remembered for not wanting to do jobs too. My point is those are things no one wants to be known for. If someone came forward to reveal internal secrets that could shock us and damage reputations, that would probably be what they would be known for. Especially if they spent the majority of their career in CHIKARA. Hania’s time there was a footnote in the news.

But who knows. it may be linked to the divorce because that went down during the same time frame so people just speculated it had something to do with it. it could have just as easily been quack wanted some time off to deal with the divorce and because we know he has ocd in regards to running chikara so he just put it on hold. that seems perfectly reasonable and understandable to me. everyone knows going through a divorce can be quite difficult. especially when there is a kid involved.
