Over the past year or at least since Naito formed LIJ, there has been talks of Naito being "the next Chono", you even saw a little bit of a hint with Chono going to the fist pump and such. With that I was actually surprised to see that even with Chono winning G1 5 times, he only held the IWGP heavyweight title once and only for 44 days. Could this be where Gedo is going? Naito being a huge deal, winning a lot of really big matches but never really being "the champ".

To be fair to Chono, he only held the title for 44 days because he had a big injury. This was during the apex of nWo Japan and Chono had Keiji f'n Muto as his no.2 on the faction. He would've held the title for quite some time (I'd say 6-8 months) if not for the injury.

So in 15 yrs I get to see Naito sitting at the announce table like a statue with glasses and a black trenchcoat on showing no emotion?
Colour me intrigued.
