In light of me happening to me watching The Dark Knight on HBO earlier, not realizing it was Heath Ledger's death anniversary, what odd coincidences have you seen while watching film?
For me, I have another story of waking up one morning and on TV was "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid", it was right at the scene where Butch rides in the bike with the main lady lead, for some reason I always smiled at the scene, so I watched the whole way and as Butch rode off I went to bed. Hours later, I got on here and saw where Paul Newman had died right around the time I was watching.
Any other stories along these lines?

There’s an 80s horror movie where a dude gets the chair. He then like turns into living electricity or something like that. I can’t rememebwr the specifics because haven’t watched in nearly 30 years.
I do remember watching it at my friends when we were little and right before they flip the switch he says something like “I’m going nationwide” they flip the switch and it’s stormib outside at that moment alll the power in the house goes out as thunder strikes.
Scared the shit out of us.

I saw the Grindhouse movies at a midnight showing at the local theatre. At the end of Planet Terror where the zombie-creature jumps out at the main character on the beach, the screen went black. I just thought it was another Grindhouse-y moment in the movie, but it wasn't, just the projector cutting out.
Other than that, it's usually stuff like me thinking "I haven't seen that movie for a while" and watching it, then some podcast mentions it a couple of weeks later.

Back in the early 90s Fred Olen Ray made a cheesy b-horror called Evil Toons. With the only real name in the film being David Carridine. I had a vhs copy of it for years. Lost that and bought the 20th anniversary DVD. Ended up watching it maybe 2 days after David had died. And the film opens with David's character hanging and killing himself.........

My dad rented me Evil Toons as a kid, thinking it was a Roger Rabbit type movie. Haha.
Just this weekend, I found myself watching a lot of 90s Nic Cage movies. Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off, 8mm, and Snake Eyes. I was wondering what's up with all these Cage movies. Turns out, today is his birthday. Happy Birthday, Nic!

i was about, oh, 13 or so. at a friend's house with a bunch of people watching the Dragon Ball movie Curse of the Blood Rubies. in it there is a scene where Bulma gives Goku a bath, and during which she delivers a line. right before she said it however, our friend Jeff farted (more accurate to say he nearly shit his pants). so he farts and then Bulma a second or later says "Hey, what's that horrible smell?"

Last night I streamed "A Cure For Wellness" because I had been meaning to check it out.
This morning when I turned on the tv, it was just starting on one of my movie channels.

Not a movie, but I remember watching the 1990 Flash TV show and it was the episode with Captain Cold. I remember having the AC on at 72 or 73 and just seeing Captain Cold freezing people didn't help matters.

I was thinking that Michael Bay was observing my life when he made the first Transformers movie.
One of the characters wears a Washington redskins football jersey and Sam's email address has the numbers 217 in them.
I happened to be wearing the same jersey when watching it the first time. It was a souvenir from my dad from a trip to Washington, not to mention the 217 in my email address.

I don't know if this counts or not, but one night Father of the Bride was on TV, and I caught it during the wedding. I don't know the actor's name, but the guy playing the vicar who's conducting the wedding is the same guy who plays the geeky looking weapons/criminal records guy in the Naked Gun films.
Not wanting to watch Bride, I surfed channels and a few channels later found The Naked Gun where, at the same time he was conducting a wedding in Father of the Bride, the geeky looking weapons/criminal records guy was talking to Frank Drebin.

Some horror movie I was watching as a kid with my cousin when it was raining and thundering outside, he said some shit to the character like i'm going to turn the lights off and murder you and all of a sudden the whole f***ing house went pitch black
We sat there still as f*** for like 30 seconds before the lights came back on with the movie back playing

I'd been doing a Robin Williams movie marathon week after work a couple years back. I got through Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, and Hook. Next day he died. I was heartbroken.
