Recently, my id was lost and I haven't gotten around to getting a replacement card. I tried Google but couldn't find anything pertaining to my question. Are you able to ask for a replacement id but with the same photo of yourself? Like fill out all of the neccessary paperwork but then you can just have them look up your photo on their file and have them send your new copy with that pic...instead of having to go through the trouble of taking a new one? Basically just a reissue of the old card. I really hate getting my picture taken at a DMV and I'm really satisifed with how my last pic turned out. I don't want to risk having a terrible new pic and being stuck with it for several years. Especially since it wouldn't be all that neccessary as I just applied at the beginning of 2017 for the id that was lost.

At least for me they used the old one on file when i moved back to Nebraska after living out of state for years. I actually just got a renewed license and they are still using my picture from when I was 21. What's funny is I look better now as I'm about 150 lbs lighter now than then.

I imagine it depends on the procedures in whatever state you are in.

Yes. Just go to the DMV website where they will have you fill out application for new card and you will be able to print out a temp with one with no picture for the time being
Your official ID will probably take around a week to get to you in which it will still be the same as your old one

I clicked on the "Renew" category. "Replace" just directs you to a page that explains how to replace your id in person. (I realise I am making this more difficult than it is...

You can replace your license online, unless you want an Enhanced or REAL ID document for the first time you are 25 or older and have replaced online in the past 30 days you are under age 25 and ordered a replacement before you have a conditional or restricted driver license your document says "Valid Without Photo" This is how it is for NY. Depending on where you live it might be different

I'm in Texas, so it looks like I have to go in person and do everything all over again. Damn.
