I don't believe the accusations either. I am all for exposing sexual harassment/assault from shady individuals in the industry. But it's gotten to the point that a man hugging a woman, saying hey, or complimenting her is considered a form of harassment now.

Interesting how many people seem willing to give him the benefit of the doubt vs. every other thread that’s been posted on a similar topic.

They're notoriously awful. If stronger evidence comes out then by all means, f*** him, but until then I don't consider them a valid enough source to throw hate on him over.

The Daily Mail IS full of shit, but it tends to be based on political bias and social/economic ideology, rather than celebrity news.

Nurse: What do you want to eat, Mr. Lee? Stan: Egg Salad, Whore! *slaps her on the ass*

For context for Americans: Imagine if Fox News was vindictive instead of just incompetent. That's the Daily Mail and the Sun.

But how many of these accusations against other celebrities have come from reputable sources? It’s in our nature to immediately make a judgement based on our opinion of the person involved. Take for example, the recent accusations against someone like Max Landis who isn’t a beloved celebrity, you’ll commonly see comments of “well, it doesn’t surprise me, he’s a douchebag”. Then you get these Stan Lee accusations and because well, he’s Stan f***ing Lee and because he’s almost universally beloved, it’s common to see comments of “no way he could have done it”. Most of the time, these celebrities have earned their reputation by their own behaviour but I’m not a fan of the “I like someone, he’s innocent. I dislike someone, they did it” double standard.

Fox and CNN are on the same level.
If this is true, then he is a sack of shit, and I hope fanboys don't defend him and make themselves look hypocritical.

Oh, man! Unlike most of the people who got busted, I like Stan Lee. So, this sucks to hear he's part of the problem. It's quickly turning into anyone in a position of power is a part of the problem. It's why I'm glad my libido is pretty much zero because all I hear all day, both in the news and around my town that everyone is terrible and sex or sexual desire is the cause of it. It’s about respect and self control for me. I’d never just grab someone out of the blue. My libido cranks up when I’m with my girlfriend. Otherwise there isn’t much of an outlet for it to me. If the urges are too strong, you could always take the matter into your own hands. Pun intended. I just don’t understand the rush that people get from exposing themselves. I guess I’m lucky because consent is a major turn on to me. Seriously. Maybe it should be for more people. It would keep them out of trouble. As for Stan Lee, I don’t know what to think. Sounds like a shady tabloid at work here. The guy is 95 years old. He might not even realize he’s saying something inappropriate, if he did. The mind is the first thing to go. I understand he’s still pretty sharp but you never know. He could have momentary lapses. I hope it’s not true. There’s been enough of these scandals already.

Honestly personally I've largely stayed out of these threads personally. Though I'll grant that you've got a point there.

It is kind of crazy that even in this thread people are saying Stan Lee was “busted”, when in reality it is just a story from The Daily Mail, which is not a very reliable source. These scandals from Hollywood are bad, but people running with these allegations before there is any real proof is pretty bad too And here's where it's going to be a problem. Yeah good for those who got people who really did something, but when there's a misunderstanding, or just someone who wants to get back at someone for reasons....

If this came from a more reputable source or we read firsthand accounts from the accusers, I'd be more inclined to believe them. I don't think it's a "I don't like them so they did it" mentality and Max Landis is a poor example to hold up to that standard, especially as he CAN be put through the earned reputation prism. His own misogynistic attitudes and creepy words have made it a lot easier to believe he'd do something creepy. Meanwhile there have been beloved celebrities like Louis CK and Kevin Spacey who have had accusations levied against them and believed because they came from reputable sources with credible investigative journalism done, like the New York Times. I mean, if there's any evidence of Stan Lee having a crappy attitude towards women in recent times, by all means.

The Daily Mail IS full of shit, but it tends to be based on political bias and social/economic ideology, rather than celebrity news. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created thinly veiled acceptance and tolerance metaphor The X-Men in 1963, the Daily Mail was still singling out and bullying trans teenagers last year. I think they probably don't like him.

yeah, from everything I've heard about the Daily Mail it's reporting is pretty shoddy. the fact that it's "exclusive" also makes this smell a bit off too. Shame if it's true. The Daily Mail is actually so unreliable as a source Wikipedia no longer allows users to cite it. Wikipedia does, however, consider Freakin' Awesome Network a reliable source. Yes, ladies and gentleman, the humble FAN is a more legitimate news outlet than the Daily Mail.
