The Daily Mail IS full of shit, but it tends to be based on political bias and social/economic ideology, rather than celebrity news. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created thinly veiled acceptance and tolerance metaphor The X-Men in 1963, the Daily Mail was still singling out and bullying trans teenagers last year. I think they probably don't like him. I doubt the Mail editor thinks deeply enough to understand X-Men's social commentary.

yeah, from everything I've heard about the Daily Mail it's reporting is pretty shoddy. the fact that it's "exclusive" also makes this smell a bit off too. Shame if it's true. The Daily Mail is actually so unreliable as a source Wikipedia no longer allows users to cite it. Wikipedia does, however, consider Freakin' Awesome Network a reliable source. Yes, ladies and gentleman, the humble FAN is a more legitimate news outlet than the Daily Mail. so does that make me like an editor... if so... *Chomps down on cigar and slams fist on the table* BRING ME PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!

We sure that he's not just taking full credit for Jack Kirby's harrassment?

As much as I hope this isn't true, the fact is in the recent past the comic book industry has been refuge for more then one sexual weirdo or old-school misogynist. It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that the mack daddy of them all has some skeletons in his closet on the matter.

I think they probably don't like him. Most of the more political side of the X-Men stories came long after Stan was a part of it, and his views on bisexual people in recent years very much line up with the Mail's. As to how much truth there is in this, and whether other outlets end up covering it, I'll be keeping an eye on it. While the Daily Mail is untrustworthy, a broken clock is right twice a day. Stan Lee has both the power and status to get away with a lot, and maybe it's my own bias, but I can't say I'd be hugely surprised.

This one I don't buy.
Most of the others have always given off creep vibes.
Stan Lee doesn't. Plus the way it's been leaked seems like an attempt to piggy back on and make a cash grab.

When are we getting to the point where we let due process take hold instead of burying people on the fly? I've heard very little in some cases (George Takei for instance) after initial allegations.

Isnt he almost 100? Possible hes losing it. If we as a society are going to continue to move towards holding those accountable for their actions on a level humanity has never seen before, yes, we have to look at all factors in the situation. Being nearly a century old doesn't and shouldn't automatically excuse someone for their actions, but it is a very clear starting point for seeing that it may not always be a black and white situation. The mental capabilities of someone his age must be called into question, I feel. Again, not giving him a pass, not at all, but definitely something that needs to be looked at.

My grandmothers in her mid 70d and already going through Alzheimer's constantly making her lash out in attitude or verbally towards staff, medical personnel and even us, her own family, but age and condition has to be taken into consideration. Not sure if Stan's going through any issues...or if he'd even allow such an examination to determine if there's something off with him at his age.

Didn't his wife die recently? Not that I'm saying it would excuse his behavior if this is true, but still...

I don't know the whole story, so I won't comment either way. That, and deciding the accused is making shit up isn't exactly a neutral response to news, either, it's deciding the accuser is guilty until proven innocent.

yeah I'm reserving any judgment on this until we get an actual news source that isn't the f***ing Daily Mail reporting it. and so far that hasn't happened so...
