Just watched last night. Rather unnecessary sequel, but its nice seeing everyone together again. To be honest though, not a very good film. I just feel like its all forced and not a real plot. The acting is great (Spud has the best plot of the movie), but as a whole, it just seems like everything about it was forced (especially Kelly Macdonald's cameo).
Thoughts?

Yeah, it was good, and definitely looked great, but...yeah, something was lacking there compared to the first movie. The main thing that annoyed me was the completely unnecessary scene where Renton and Sick Boy shot up, which, should have been more important than it was, as we're dealing with at least one major former heroin addict (Renton). However, other than just having a trippy scene, it was completely unimportant to what followed, as things kind of went back to the plot that had been ongoing up to that point (Begbie hunting down Renton), and, yeah, it was completely forgotten.

I f***ing loved it. Quite possibly my favorite movie of 2017. I think it's great as a stand alone flick and as a sequel. I love it takes those characters and thrusts them into the shittiness of getting older whereas the first dealt with the shittiness of a troubled youth. And I just love Boyles directing. So kinetic. Also I f***ing loved the monologue Ewan delivers in the restaurant scene.

Loved it. One of the best films of 2017. The scene with Renton and Begbie in the nightclub toilet was f***ing amazing!

I enjoyed it, liked it, would watch it again...but it just lacked something. Maybe this is to do with getting older - myself and the cast - or just because the first one was so in your face that any sequel would be hard to live up to. I'd still recommend it to anyone, though.

I enjoyed it, but that's because Edinburgh is one of my favourite places on the planet. Such a beautiful and uplifting city.

Haven't seen it let because the first one was brilliant and I didn't want to taint its existence in my memory by watching this. I may someday

Loved it. One of the best films of 2017. The scene with Renton and Begbie in the nightclub toilet was f***ing amazing! watched that bit a few time too, the complete silence as they start to realise who each one was it's very good, more nuanced than the first raggidy anne movie that was wild, they are of course older but just as daffy hopefully at the end of the third one begbie and renton ..... HUG IT OUT
