Jericho several times lol that's why he takes breaks, most famously he said that in 05 he stopped giving a f*** after Vince was offering him less money to sign a new contract. Batista once Vince fined him a hundred grand for blading. Austin getting phased out in 02, I think the Scott Hall program broke him. Nash's home life was getting affected by the constant traveling so he left. I think that the grind ends up f***ing you over more so than being passed over for pushes and opportunities. It's a great living but the roster has to bump and work like four days a week, then in their days off sometimes they need to do press. Also while being at home I've seen interviews from guys saying that instead of spending time with the family they sleep while trying to handle the pain their bodies are in. After that they do brutal traveling and the cycle starts again. Hardcore Holly said this in his book. He stated "The times you see us on TV is literally the best and only exciting time for us." The rest of it as you stated is work for them. They leave the show and either have another one to do, get to the hotel and only grab a couple to a few hours of sleep, catch the next plane or get a rental for the continued road travel, and etc. Hardcore Holly even said that the couple of days you do have off it's spent sleeping or catching up on some things at home. I can't imagine living that kind of life.

You're correct in that they're similar and while touring does take a lot out of the artists. If they take care of themselves they don't suffer too horribly from it. The ones who engage in heavy alcohol, partying, drugs, sex, and other activities is when it becomes an issue for them. Unfortunately though constant touring is the only way a band makes money these days.
