I remember in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks that ClearChannel put out a list of songs to its radio stations they weren't allowed to play because of so-called "political correctness." And some of it was the most inane stuff ever. Anything that mentioned fire or tuesday or planes in the titles were suggested not to be played, even if they were perfectly innocent songs (ie, Jimi Hendrix's "Fire", "Ruby Tuesday" by the Rolling Stones, Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner", etc).

How about mooning someone? Does that still happen in 2018? I feel like by todays standards mooning the wrong person could get you put on a registered sex offender list. One time 20 friends and I piled in 4 cars and went away for the weekend about 2 hours from home, and each time a "friend car" would pass each other on the way back someone's ass was either hanging out a window or thier cheeks would be pressed against the glass. I feel sorry for any innocent bystanders caught on the cross fire of our highway moonathon. This was like 4 years ago.

There's an episode of Saved By The Bell where the guys secretly take pictures of the girls in their swimsuits and sell calendars of them. The fact that they were basically peeping toms and they were selling pics of girls that were supposed to be underage at the time, is all kinds of weird and creepy. But at the time it was funny and everyone was like "Oh that mischievous Zack Morris..."

Heard from a buddy who was a radio DJ near the MS coast after Katrina that the station passed around a list of songs they couldn't play. Stuff like... Scorpions-Rock you like a Hurricane Katrina and the Waves-Walking on Sunshine and a few others. No idea if this was just at that one station or if it happened at more. And to show how times have changed. Back in the day Walmart refused to carry the Beavis and Butthead Experience CD. But I have found copies of Dead Kennedy's Frankenchrist album at Walmart. And a few NOFX albums there too. Plus you can buy films like I spit on your grave, the original or remake, and Last House on the Left, original and remake.

(before they were dating I believe) and the subliminal messaging episode... which... yeah.

people say that but no it probably could get made today... mostly. The people that use the N-word in the movie are all either blatantly the villains or well... and are unequivocally proven to be in the wrong, and for the second group they stop using it after realizing that Bart is doing a damned good job as the Sheriff. The fact that the screenplay was at least partially written by Richard Pryor also helps. as for the mostly part... the Dom DeLuise section would have to be altered if made today, as well as Mel Brooks as the Indian Chief would probably be cut as well.

Though even the part with Mel as the Sioux chief is done as an acknowledgment of various ethnic groups that have been treated like crap in American history, in this case a Jew playing an indigenous chief...but yeah, I think it would only fly today if it was actually Mel Brooks himself doing it.

It's pretty amazing to me that South Park (which I will forever be a fan of) is still on the air, with the way attitudes have changed since it first came out.

The Handi-Man skits from In Living Color. Even back then it was controversial.

The Handi-Man skits from In Living Color. Even back then it was controversial. Looking back at that show, the only sketch you MIGHT be able to still get away with would be Fire Marshall Bill, and even that one's iffy.

Something tells me that if UHF was made today, the Raul's Wild Kingdom segment wouldnt be included (you might get away with "turtles are nature's suction cup" and him shaking up the ant farm, but no dice on "today we teach poodles to fly!"). Ted Danson punts a dog into the sun on the show The Good Place lol
