Anyone can be accused of anything. I wont judge the man until there's concrete facts that actually confirm any of it.

FREE MONEY!! NOt to mention attention. Remember #believeallliars Yeah, NO. There's been too many confirmed cases for us to just casually dismiss this story. Basing it on the story and the texts, it seems they both had different impressions of how the night went. Of course, posting the headline automatically makes it seem like he's guilty. Just, maybe don't call for his head before there are a few more details.

I just don't think the accuser should automatically be dismissed as a liar.

Clash’s point wasn’t that Aziz has a history of this stuff, it was that there is way, way, WAY too much cases of this stuff for people to throw it out because of women wanting publicity and free money which, in past threads, people have only given one person that wanted that opposes to the people who get abused and chased off of social media for even putting their story out there.

Bingo. I don't know whether Aziz is guilty or not. Maybe the dude's totally innocent. But this thing where people automatically think "witch hunt" whenever someone is being accused of misconduct? That's got to stop.

I'm no fan of Aziz as of the last few years ...but this sounds like a weird one. A real weird one. I kinda get her perspective but I kinda would get his too. Whole thing sounds like a misfired mess. Also the article is terribly written:
"they exchanged small talk and drank wine. “It was white,” she said. “I didn’t get to choose and I prefer red, but it was white wine.”

There have also been way to many false rape accusations for me to believe anyone who has everything to gain and nothing to loose from making this up.

There have also been way to many false rape accusations for me to believe anyone who has everything to gain and nothing to loose from making this up. And there's been too many accusations that have been proven to hold merit for me to automatically not believe anyone by default.

Because I’m seeing way more accusations that lead to truth than otherwise. Also, can you name me people who haven’t been vigorously abused or shunned or blacklisted or forced to leave social media for these accusations? Because, again, seeing WAY more of those than the book deals and roles in movies and sitcoms.

That’s a tough read.
Initially, Aziz comes across as someone who’s really, really, incredibly bad at sex. And probably drunk.
Then as the report progresses he gets way too pushy and it gets incredibly and obviously uncomfortable.
Two sides to every story, and all that. I try not to have an authoritative opinion on these things because they’re so divisive... so I’ll just say that reading stories like this coming out about guys I like really saddens me.

Yeah, NO. There's been too many confirmed cases for us to just casually dismiss this story. Yeah YES. There have also been way to many false rape accusations for me to believe anyone who has everything to gain and nothing to loose from making this up. Statistically speaking, approximately 2% of rape accusations are found to be false. Rape and assault are also incredibly underreported crimes due to the invasive nature of the investigations and the fear of societal reprisal against the victim; much of the purpose of the current "Me Too" movement is to undo that stigma. Granted, 2% is still too much, but no, there is not some epidemic of false accusations, nor has there ever been. Additionally, accusers do not become rich off of their accusations; if they have, it would be proper for you to provide evidence of that. In point of fact, most of the stories we get of what happens to accusers is that they're often hounded on social media with insults and even death threats. Considering that this board is a community that includes victims of sexual violence, I'm going to ask you to either be more measured in how you discuss this topic, or to refrain from discussing it entirely.

No one has 'nothing to lose' by speaking out about sexual assault/harrassment. No one.

Eh I agree with most of this but they’re definitely was a epidemic of false rape accusations with black men throughout the Jim Crow era. While that doesn’t correspond with the current me too movement, I just wanted to highlight that false rape accusations is a thing in the past history of our country.

There have also been way to many false rape accusations for me to believe anyone who has everything to gain and nothing to loose from making this up. While not sexually, I have been abused. There's a reason why people keep these things to themselves, and when I made my admission of being abused, it was neither a lie, nor an attention grab.
