Bring up another NXT person for him to team with and have them betray him too. Make this a recurring thing for the next year. Then at some point, he tries to betray them but his partner sees it coming and betrays him first.

Then at some point, he tries to betray them but his partner sees it coming and betrays him first. Zack Ryder teams with a returning Sting, and the two have an incredibly tense partnership. Neither man will ever look away from the other. They always go for the tag as fast as possible so the other guy can't drop off the apron. After this goes on for a while and Sting retires, both men realize on Talking Smack that they had the same fear and hug it out. Then Ric Flair kicks them both in the balls. |

I think WWE will hang onto Ryder for the rest of his career if they can help it.
Zack's got the willpower to turn opportunities out of virtual nothing, like how he actually got people to care about a Kickoff match with him and Mojo despite the feud being ice cold on TV. They won't really push him for a sustained time, but they'll give him brief programs every once in a while to get someone over.

I wonder if we ever will see him outside WWE? Now that I think about it, he's always hung in there with WWE no matter how badly they've squandered him. What would it take for him to leave? He's someone I can't help rooting for; no matter what gets thrown at him he just keeps getting back up.

Putting him back with Hawkins would be a boost to the tag division and they have experience so they could help get other teams over. I honestly think he peaked with his Wrestlemania moment as a singles guy.

I agree with the sentiment that he really needs a trip outside of the WWE to freshen up and try new things. When you're at his place on the card, yeah, you may have a career for life as a JTTS but he's no Heath Slater in that regards. If he wants to prove he's ever better than a lower midcard comedy act he's got to get his ass to Japan or otherwise a different promotion that's not just going to yank his chain all the time.
