Can you name people who you believe has gone from being overrated to somehow becoming underrated in their careers
On the heels of Randy Orton not being invited to Raw 25, I think he qualifies for this. The dude was one of the most pushed superstars they've had somehow he's now become very underrated in my opinion

John Cena has the honor of going from Underrated to Overrated to Underrated within his career. People can crap all over his 'Super Cena' era, but he's often been the only good thing of WWE TV since his original US Title Open Challenge. EDIT: Hell, I'll add another one on here...when it comes to in-ring work, Hulk Hogan. His time in NJPW (especially against Tenryu) have moments that can stun the more casual audience not realizing the guy actually had CHAIN WRESTLING ABILITY: Oh, and just because I can... "H-TRIGGAH!!!"

Lana, maybe? Yeah, so she showed she's probably not the woman WWE should be building the women's division around like they wanted to, but she's horribly underutilized with Carmella, Nattie and Tamina. She should be a face with Rusev and Aiden.

How about Mickie James? She (allegedly) had a psycho-level following that instantly dubbed her one of the greatest woman wrestlers of all time when she really didn't know what she was doing yet. But now years later, I think she actually is one of the greatest woman wrestlers of all time and almost no one talks about her.

Whether they were true or not, I dunno, but it was definitely starting to look like it before she got hurt.

Well when they broke her up from Rusev, the word going around was she was the "real star" and helped Rusev get all his heat which we found out wasn't true at all Once the Ziggler shit floundered, they put her back with Rusev but this time he was more in the spotlight

"Overrated" is a weird idea, because for it to make sense, it kind of has to be a minority opinion. So basically all this is saying is "Who had a cult following and then lost it?"

Roman Reigns.
Considered the most overrated guy in the sport because of how unpopular he is as the top guy, and has been hated and seen as overrated for so long, and he's good enough in the ring, that you can make a strong case he's the most underrated wrestler in the business as a result of it.

I agree Reigns is underrated in the ring by most fans. The same could be said about Cena, but he seems to be pretty well respected around here these days. I think the same thing will happen with Reigns as time goes by.

It's crazy to think how massive the growth is Roman has had in the ring as compared to when he first started with the Shield and his first singles push. That part is buried deep underground because of the push he receives so people still look at him as this green guy when he does have compelling matches Is his matches based upon a formula at this point, yes of course but he usually has one of the better matches on the card in my opinion. Hell, him and Miz had a good match at Raw 25 which would have been impossible to say 5 years ago

I'll give a vote to Sid here. Early on, he was made into a much bigger deal in both WCW and the WWF than his talent seemed to warrant. By mid- to late '96, when they brought him back as Warrior's replacement, he still had that reputation as a limited hoss-type who had to be carried, but he was significantly improved and much more capable of having good matches with lots of different guys at that point.

The miz went from being quite overrated - around 2011 or so when he was WWE Champion - to now being quite underrated. I truly believe he's one of the best they have on the roster, all-around, and he's easily WWE championship caliber, but he's back to being IC Champion again.
He's improved in every aspect since 2011, but is now lower on the card.

I wouldn't even say he's underrated I think everyone rates him very fairly now as far being a good wrestler and one of the best heels on the roster Can he win the WWE title again? Sure but you wouldn't want him in that area for too long as he's valuable as the Upper Midcard Gatekeeper He's the new age Jericho in regards to legitimizing the Upper Midcards but he can easily slide in the Main Event which is what I would expect sooner or later as far as getting another shot at the WWE title

Hmm I would still disagree if we talking how much he gets featured because they've seemed to be as high on him now over the last few years He's not spinning his wheels like he did with Mizdow, since the mini AJ feud when he came in 2 years ago they've pushed him and to a detriment at some points like when IC title had a bunch of momentum when he won the Fatal 4 Way and left with the belt for 2 months

Drew McIntyre went from overpushed IC Champion to "Why is this dude being used in 3MB he's worth WAY more than this!"
He was finally getting his shine back in NXT before that injury

He's had 7 years to become an incredible performer.
