Isn't it mostly geared toward young kids? That seemed to be the audience when I caught a few minutes of it. By that metric, it was fine. It is aimed at young kids and pretty much every kid I know under 12 watches and loves the show. There are much worse cartoons airing right now. That's the feel I got from the few minutes I saw. It just seems odd for grown people go get all bent outta shape about it like I've seen some places. It'd be like if my uncles got up in arms about say He-man in 1983. It's like: "Yeah, you're not crazy about it; ain't for you."

What I find funny is how it constantly hammers into peoples' heads that it's a kids show and that grown up shouldn't be watching it, but it sprinkles in a bunch of references that only older people would get, plus some risque humor. So which is it? You can't have it both ways. You said so. Looney Tunes did that with virtually every short though.

Looney Tunes seemed to be more of a general audience thing. It wasn't strictly for kids. Anyway, my original point is it seems hypocritical to claim that a certain target audience is too old to be watching cartoons while putting in adults references is all.

It gets weirdly disturbing sometimes like how the titans have straight up died in several episodes (in one, it is heavily implied Robin will kill himself in a motorcycle accident, eesh). I think it's kind of like Sonic Boom in that it dedicates a lot of resources to being self-referential about how fans of the older Teen Titans don't like the show sometimes. They did a whole special about being rebooted as grimdark and serious where they basically trashed Young Justice for being a serious super hero show.

There was also another episode where they rebooted themselves into "sophisticated" humor, which meant just using big words, and reverted due to mass farting.

Fair enough I guess; though I can't say that I wouldn't be that petty too if people were trashing my product haha.

My son watches it. I don't think it's that bad. It's entertaining at moments. I think people need to move on from this Teen Titans Go hate. It's getting really ridiculous at this stage. Personally, I think it doesn't get hate enough. It's one of the worst things on television, and Cartoon Network likes it simply because it's cheap and mass produced. I was honestly looking forward to this back in 2014, given how much I hated the original (yes, that's true) and was hoping for a silly, lighthearted romp because I feel like action comedy cartoons are 80% action and 20% comedy. What I saw was awfully mean spirited and ham-fisted. I mean, I know there's worse things for kids to see, but endless fart jokes and lowbrow comedy is an indication of very lazy writing. I think it gets way too much hate. It seems to be the cool thing to crap all over Teen Titans Go. Let's face it, it's not aimed at you. It's aimed at kids with little jokes that are supposed to amuse parents that watch it.

Went on a family trip in September and I woke up early at the hotel while it was on tv and started watching it. It's actually pretty good. I had no idea though given I was comparing it to the classic Teen Titans but for what type of show it is, yeah it's good. Big problem is it wants to be a kids show and for the older people who watch it that were fans of the old show, they attack them all the time Sure they make fun of themselves as well but it's the troll-ish type nature that turns people off Interesting. I took it as a kid's show with maybe a hint of adult references thrown in but nothing too crazy but then again I don't get the talk around it.

Yea, if you watch enough episodes you'll notice it As I said before the show is just okay when they don't go down that route. Does it get too much hate, yes and no. Cartoonetwork has hitched their wagon to them so for people interested in other stuff on the channel, it's a mild annoyance to have that on almost the entire day

So they had to appeal to kids and adults.

It's funny how we're talking about TTG on a predominantly pro wrestling, specifically, WWE centered board, because that is what is often reminds me of; a show that is geared(or said as much) toward a younger crowd, which sprinkles in nostalgia, and shits on their audience if they ever complain about the quality of the current show.
I don't hate it, and can find some entertainment value in it; however, as time as gone on, it has gone out of it's way to be stupid, loud, and obnoxious; coupled with the fact that it seems like it is the only show CN gives a shit about, I can easily see why their is backlash.

I think it's hilarious. Besides, it's silly to be mad at a cartoon show for being different from another cartoon that was already vastly different from it's source material.

I used to watch the original Teen Titans cartoon religiously, I saw every episode.
When it comes to Teen Titans Go, I've seen some random episodes and found it kind of funny.
A lot of people are saying that it attacks or trolls fans of the original series, but no one has given a specific example of it. In what ways have they attacked fans of the original?

They actually did a whole episode where the villain was this overweight nerd who whined about them being a mockery of the original show. I thought it was hilarious, personally.

Oh yeah, Control Freak is awesome in either version. He starred in one of the funniest episodes of the original show. I can't say I'm a full blown fan of TTG, I think it gets caught up too often in what its detractors think about it. Sometimes it's kinda funny, but the original TT was amazing.
