I just got back from The Rumble and after Nakamura won the crowd (along with me) was exhausted. We spent all our energy booing Roman and Cena and popping like hell when Nakamura won. The tag title match, Universal title match and The Women's Rumble match all suffered from the lack of crowd interest. After the Men's Rumble there had to be 7,000 people out at the concession area/bathrooms

Nia Jax was one of the most over people in that match, it was nuts.

I'm pleasantly surprised how long Sarah, Ruby & Liv lasted. Kind of shows you that they have faith in the Riott Squad even if none of em won.

Carmella's music kills any noise, so on TV it never sounds like she gets a reaction.

Well Mandy/Sonya and Riott Squad nobody knew who it was til they came out anyway. They need single themes

Next year the Rumbles need to be card flipped, nothing against the girls but that placement killed the second half of the card.

Because the fans were hoping for a surprise in the Woman's Royal Rumble, for which there were many.
Instead they got Sarah Logan and that very very crappy Riott Squad music.

People are not going to get up and cheer their frickin' heads off every 90 seconds, bro.
To go a little further with that point: a lot of the time the biggest pops of a show are at the very beginning and end. The first pop doesn't even matter who's coming out. People are just excited to see the show begin. I went to a house show a while back and Neville got the biggest pop of the night simply because he was the first guy through the curtain any of the fans cared about.

I think it was a mixture of crowd fatigue and a lot of the women not being over because they're just warm bodies.
The crowd was dead silent for Sasha and Becky at the start. That's the fatigue. By the end, Sasha was getting big reactions.
But... Sarah Logan and Dana Brooke? They were never gonna get reactions.

There are times in history where you might expect the same proportion of fan reaction for the male roster, too, though.
Like the Attitude Era (although sadly nowhere to the extent of the Attitude Era), it's great to see that right now, we have men who are really over at all levels of the card. Like, I know the fans were hot for this rumble anyway, but did anyone notice how over almost every entry was?
They know what they need to book for the next year, now. Take the same mindset towards giving each of the men something to get them over, and apply it to the women. Consistently.

I had it at 12. Bayley pretty much got dead silence herself. Had her at slightly higher volume, I think being in Philly saved her. And probably sank Naomi. I love Naomi but I can see Philly pooping on her; so we can call it a wash.

And to be fair, Naomi (Kofi spot),Carmella (various heel shindigs), Ruby Riott (bit with McCool/Vickie), Mickie (Trish showdown), Natalya (beating up Trish/reunion with Beth) (and I think Sarah Logan? Don't quote me on that one, I need to rewatch) all got some reaction at some point during their run in the match. You get down to Liv Morgan or Tamina as the real "no reaction at all Jinder 2012" people.

Carmella needs James Ellsworth back. No kidding,Ellsworth made Carmella as a character

The problem with getting rid of Ellsworth is that the Carmella storyline with him wasn't remotely finished. She hadn't cashed in MITB yet. Once she did and won the title, she could kick him to the curb. Or if he screwed up and she failed, kick him to the curb. As it is now she kicked him to the curb and now what? It's like every time I see her with the briefcase I'm reminded of how terrible that MITB PPV was.
One big, scary problem that women's Rumble had last night is that about half of it was nostalgia acts and those washed up nostalgia acts all took turns eliminating current talent. Who in their right mind wanted to ever see Michelle McCool again getting her "My husband is the Undertaker" push and eliminating 5 of the girls? Didn't Torrie Wilson eliminate someone as well?
As an aside I think one problem these days with the Rumbles is that the drawing is so blatantly being booked. As in Sasha and Becky HAD to start out because they needed a couple of half decent chicks to carry it for the bulk of the match. But it was obvious that it was simply booked that way rather than in the past where announcers would harp on how terrible their luck was (even Rey's ghastly 2006 run was a product of Eddie's ghost playing tricks on him by somehow giving Rey #2). Benoit in 2004 was screwed royally by Heyman with the #1 slot and this was a storyline point, whereas Taker got his Rumble win by being the first guy at #30 to win and having a slight edge over a tired Shawn Michaels. Would it kill them to actually focus on the psychology of the draw itself? Balor was #2 last night but it was just kind of "Oh well, Balor is #2" instead of it being this terrible draw that he couldn't recover from.

Not a true Conway pop for any of them. The actual Conway pop sucks any and all energy out of a surrounding radius, allowing no sound.
It is an event horizon from which there is no escape. Unless you just fire Conway, of course.

The crowd was f***ing wiped but the the fact you listed mostly real low-note names like Dana and Tamina, and the new girls isn't any coincidence. The Absolution and Riott Squad entrants were never going to get a reaction because the whole execution of them has been trash garbage. Remember how long it took the Four Horsewomen to get any traction because of their dire-ass call up? They were basically thrown to the same Wolves Sarah Logan sleeps with at night. *mumbles* paw paw! *mumbles* game meat!

Not having watched much recently the women's rumble was a great insight to what the rumble must be like as a casual fan. The stable girls didn't make much of an impression. On the flip side I hadn't seen yacht persona girl before and now want to see more of her work.
Hope Dana gets over with whatever she's doing with Titus, she did some great character work on NXT which was wasted once Emma got injured.

Unless you just fire Conway, of course. I always thought the Conway pop was the crowd removing all other remnants of sound so they could bask in how amazing the entrance theme was.
