...OK. I am happy for those that looked forward to this, but I would have preferred them continuing World Championship Wrestling from where they left off in July 1989. Oh well, after finishing this run, I'll head on over to Mid-Atlantic. I guess this means we have to still keep circulating the tapes as far as July 1989-Early 1992 WCW is concerned We still don’t have any word on Main Event either, the WCW Sunday night B show. Not always great, but lead into pay per views sometimes. Happy to have Saturday Night, but like others, for the love of Pete, to have one continuous run would actually be nice.

Never was a fan how Watts broke up the Dangerous Alliance. And I know a lot of folks hated how Gordy/Williams went over the Steiner's every time

The editing on these is really inconsistent.
Sometimes, if the bumper before the commercial is for the WCW Hotline, they'll just blur the number. Other times, they'll fade to black sooner and not show it at all. Sometimes, if the bumper is for what's on WCW Main Event the next night, they'll keep it. Other times, they'll remove it with the early fade.
There are also at least two instances I've noticed so far where the bumper promises something coming up next after the break, then WWE doesn't show it. One was a Starrcade '92 Control Center, and the other was "WCW Up Close" feature on Steve Williams. They've also cut 30-second or 60-second spots for Clash 18 a few times but leave in JR throwing to it.

Watching the first episode that they have on the network from 1992. Damn, that Michael Hayes promo was goddamn racist in every sense. With him, it's not just "heeling it up". Yikes! Loving it otherwise! I grew up watching this show.

Ok I'm thinking of a different episode in the regular vault where Michael Hayes cuts a racist promo against Ron Simmons.

I was watching the one today from May 92 with Randy Owen of the country band Alabama as the host with JR. They had a sit down interview with Rick Rude, and before JR could ask a question, Owens jumps in and straight up asks Rude why he left WWF for WCW. Rude seemed taken aback by the question, took about 5 seconds before finally saying that basically he felt held down in the WWF. It was stunning to me that WCW would let that question be asked.

So the WWE considers World Championship Wrestling and WCW Saturday Night as two seperate shows. But those standards, is a show that lated from 1982-92, so if they added Georga Championship Wrestling 1982 - 84, and the WWF on TBS, it would be under the same umbrella as the Crocket era version fo the show.

Yes, WWE considers the show from 1972 to March 28, 1992 to be the same program. In the Eddie Guerrero collection, they label the May 20, 1989 episode (with Guerrero vs. Terry Funk) as episode 857.

That said, how do they consider World Championship Wrestling the same show when Vince bought it out? It was literally a different promotion and not the same show.
I started watching these, just here and there in 1992. Started with the episode where Simmons won the title (which still might the best single angle WCW ever did). The rest of the show aside from it was just whatever. Also watched the first episode listed and it had some really good stuff on it too like Pillman/Armstrong. And yes, I too checked out the Randy Owen episode since my mom is pretty much the biggest Alabama fan on earth and for years I mentioned that I recall seeing Owen on a random WCW episode, so I played it for her.
In fact I am going to lay down the gauntlet here and say something few would most likely agree with: The 1992 era WCW stuff is certainly better than 80s era NWA, at least from what is on the WWE Network. Even the silly squash stuff is fascinating when you get wacky Vinnie Vegas matches or Diamond Studd.
Oh and I know he died recently so let me throw out a mention of Tom Zenk. How on earth did the Z-Man never amount to anything? The guy was a solid wrestler, great look, solid size. If he showed up in WWE today Vince would put every belt in the company on this guy. Was it just a case of him burning his bridge with the WWF in 1987 and no other promotion ever really trusted him?

When WWE took over, the show had the same graphics and theme music that Georgia had before that and Crockett had later. For the last month of WWE's run, they taped the show at the same Atlanta studio that GCW and Crockett used as well.
