I just want Green Bay to do something right in the offseason for once so we can maybe win one more ring for Aaron Rodgers.

Now the Lions are free to hire Matt Patricia. A guy whose defense is nothing special but because he's a Bill Belichick guy, he gets a pass. I have been a Lions fan since I was 11 (so 30 years). I have never been more as disappointed with them than I am now. Believe me, 0-16 was rough but I am not happy about this. They fire a coach who was winning and made the playoffs in two of his years there. That's something that doesn't happen to Detroit often. Now they're bringing in one of Bill Belichick's coordinators and those never work out as head coaches. I could be wrong about the guy but I thought it was a terrible decision to fire Caldwell and this seems like an even worse decision.

Lets be fair, theres a handful of scrubs on that D and no studs outside Hightower who missed the second half of te season Andt were the #1 in points allowed after the first month.

Lets be fair, theres a handful of scrubs on that D and no studs outside Hightower who missed the second half of te season Andt were the #1 in points allowed after the first month. I don't think they are the worst defense in the league by any stretch but I wouldn't call them a great one either. No doubt losing Hightower hurt them but nothing about the guy screams head coach material. It's a move that makes zero sense to me. It's frustrating to see a team that I have supported for years finally start to turn things around only to fire the coach who is helping turn the program around. No, the Lions weren't going to the Super Bowl any time soon as they still have some work to do. But they were finally starting to get a winning culture going. Like I said, I could be wrong about Patricia. Maybe he will be the one Belichick disciple to succeed on his own and for the sake of the Lions, I hope so. I'm not counting on it though.

I can't believe I can walk in here and say The Eagles are the defending champions off of a Backup QB's performance
I can't wait to see what this team does with a HEALTHY WENTZ...

Everyone prepare to shift your hate from Thom Brady to Jimmy Garoppolo. It's only a matter of time before the torch is passed and a new dynasty begins out on the West Coast. You've all been warned. (Ahhh the offseason. Home of relentless optimism that will last until exactly the first loss of the season, at which point the sky falls down)

So stupid. Their D was so godawful. Would he have REALLY hurt them any more? I doubt it, and that's a rare check against Belichick.

Bill claims this wasn't disciplinary but then tries to say he put his best people on the field when he really didn't Based upon Butlers response it seems this was all last minute and whatever problems him and the Pats had all season finally came to boil over

The problem comes when you preach everything is about the system but yet shit like this happens New England will never blow up as long as Bill is around but they have a bad history of doing players dirty when they don't want them anymore You're only as good to Bill as you are the day of the game. After that he's done with you. Everyone outside of Tom Brady can be replaced and that's the motto they've lived by which creates bad feelings especially when you preach "Patriot way" and it comes across as hollow slogan to not air out dirty laundry

Since the whole thing started, a big, core tenet of "Patriot Way" is and always has been "Don't overpay for memories. Know when someone's time is over, and be prepared to say goodbye to someone one year too early instead of one year too late". If anything, the way New England traded Garoppolo this season was more against the slogan of "Patriot Way" than anything (since trading Brady himself instead and giving the keys to him would have been the "Patriot Way" move.) Yes, everyone can be replaced in New England, but that's the whole point. They'd rather have a well-oiled machine in each position than let someone get overpaid for less production because of what they had done in the past.

Oh don't get me wrong this works and has worked for years which is why they can take on players who are deemed a headcase because if you complain under Bill best believe you'll have a hard time on another team Hell, even Brady has clashed with the Pats in public a bit because the "Patriot Way" has fallen on him to and when he took pay cuts for the betterment of the team and wanted to get paid a little more, they fought back At the end of the day this is Bill's system and while they may have gone against the grain and stuck Tom over Jimmy for now, everyone else is still fair game. You can complain about the "Patriot Way" but at the end of the day it works and has gotten guys rings in their careers.

So...... who’s gonna play on Thursday Opening Night in Philly for the season opener?
Dallas and Minnesota are probably the favorites at this point.
