What I really want is more eclectic worlds from properties all over Disney's media empire.
Specifically, I want a world based on Clerks: The Animated Series. Replace Donald and Goofy with Jay and Silent Bob. And give me a Charles Barkley summon.

Just a head’s up guys, but spoilers are starting to run loose in the wild because some jackass working at a packing plant stole some copies of the game’s Xbox One version and was/is selling/has sold some to people. I guess he's conspiring on behalf of Capcom/Resident Evil 2 Remake

I only played the first one but never completed it.
So you need to know the story of the past games, or will it be like FF where every game is stand alone?

Oh, there IS a story, but it plays out like a Russian novel, and a badly written one at that, so what you should probably do is just come in and ignore those elements because even if this game is hyping about tying up all the loose ends, it's most likely going to leave us with more questions than answers.

I would best describe it like this: Final Fantasy is like a Tokusatsu series. Different cast, different story, but similar elements that link the installments together. Kingdom Hearts is like a Shounen Anime. It is a continuous storyline that builds off of and upon what came before. If you haven’t played the previous installments, but still want to play this one, there’s numerous story summaries on YouTube. Most that I saw ranged from 30-50 minutes.

I really think the best advice when it comes to the Kingdom Hearts plot is to just straight up ignore it. It pretty much completely stopped making sense in 2 and each subsequent installment has just made it worse.

I heard about that. Some people just seem to love ruining things for everyone. Tetsuya Nomura has commented on the leaks and revealed the epilogue and secret movie are actually part of a Day 1 patch, so there's no way anyone leaking it early can reveal anything from those. He also said he's appreciative that most of the community response for the leaks have been to turn away from them instead of spreading it around or discussing details. www.ign.com/articles/2018/12/16/kingdom-hearts-3-has-reportedly-leaked-online-beware-of-spoilers

The best advice I can give concerning trying to understand the Kingdom Hearts meta-plot is: don't. Enjoy the fun Disney-Final Fantasy crossover parts and try not to think too hard whenever Xehanort or one of his minions waxes poetic about Darkness or dumps lore in your face that you would've known more about had you played the previous games, spinoffs, and remakes of all of the above (with increasingly gibberish titles) with more lore nonsense that tries to sound -deep- but just ends up being confusing and nonsensical.

So I played through Kingdom Hearts, watched a summary of Chain of Memories (because I cannot tolerate that card based gameplay at all) and watched the cinema mode for 365/2 days.
That offered no more clarity going into Kingdom Hearts 2 than I had when I initially played it without familiarity with the gameboy games.
It's all just....what?

Still plan on buying the game on 1/29, I remember really liking part 1, not so much part 2 though.

Personally I'm definitely picking 3 up but it'll probably be whenever it's on sale. Square games get cheap quickly and I don't at all care about the plot so there's not really a rush to avoid spoilers.

I remember my mom having to take the first one away from me because it consumed my life. My parents probably should have taken away Morrowind and Oblivion. I played those suckers until like 3 or 4 am and got up for school at 7. I have no idea how I didn't just straight up die.

I remember my mom having to take the first one away from me because it consumed my life. I kind of crawled my way through the first one but then the second day I got it I played it for like 14 hours straight. Meanwhile nowadays I've been meaning to replay 2 and yet left off in I think Port Royal having not touched it in months. Granted this is far from my first time replaying it. That said I've never come anywhere close to 100%ing either of them and don't ever intend to (especially 1, just the one time I got all of dalmatians was enough of a drag) so that's kind of barrier to being consumed by it.

I got the Platinum trophy on the first one on the PS4 release. Beating Sephiroth on hard is very fulfilling. Biggest grind was creating every item in the workshop. The drop rate on rare ingredients is just awful. I think I maybe played one boss fight on Chain of Memories before quitting with that card based fighting system. Just started a play-through of 2 last week.

Anyone else think The Incredibles would've been in the game if they hadn't gone with Big Hero 6?
