Worst: Battleground 2013. With the exception of the Rhodes Brothers/Shield match, that card was a series of nothing matches, a power outage right before the main event and a WWE Championship match that never actually ended because Big Show just beat everyone up. In the Network era, you would have gotten your $10 from the tag match, but this was pre-Network, so WWE was charging people $70 for a show without an actual ending. Battleground in general, except for the year they had the Shield triple threat on it, have been some of the most critically-panned shows of each year. In its lifetime, it’s won THREE Worst PPV Golden Snowcones and was runner-up for a fourth to the all-time clanger that was Royal Rumble 2015.

I miss when you knew the ppv schedule. Now there's name changes and dumb gimmick names. I liked it when it was:
January-Royal Rumble February-No Way Out March-WrestleMania April-Backlash May-Judgment Day June-King of the Ring July-Fully Loaded August-SummerSlam September-Unforgiven October-No Mercy November-Survivor Series December-Armageddon/Vengeance

Has anything good ever happened at an Unforgiven? Unforgiven 2006 was definitely a good pay-per-view. I also enjoyed Unforgiven 2005 for some reason.

I always enjoyed the b shows namely smackdown ppvs. Great American Bash. When Raw had Vengeance. Can't remember the year. Orton v Edge was great.

In terms of what's coming to mind right now . . .
Best: Payback 2013. Maybe it's just because I was in the midst of my college years and didn't quite follow current WWE as much, but 2010-2013 WWE kinda blends together as if it were this plastic, annoying fever dream where heel Michael Cole yells a lot. So imagine my surprise when I watched this show about a year ago for the first time and discovered it's actually it's own living, energetic thing. Great atmosphere, a World Heavyweight Championship bout featuring Del Rio and Ziggler at their most interesting ever, and that AJ/Kaitlyn match are all highlights. The worst part? Those woeful, woeful CM Punk sideburns.
Worst: New Year’s Revolution 2005. Ah, yes, I’m sure we all shed a tear over the loss of WWE’s mid ‘00s January B-show known for art design that wouldn’t be out of place in a shitty fantasy RPG. I’m not sure what possessed me to bug my parents so I could watch this live on pay-per-view, but I owe them an apology. The show is such a blatant cash grab and everything is a waste of time until the Elimination Chamber, which is admittedly fun but nonetheless undone by the fact that they went out their way to vacate the title for weeks only for it to be around the waist of Triple H again. Just a whole bunch of why bother.

I don't think Unforgiven 2002 takes anywhere near as much shit as it should. HLA with Rikishi in drag, RVD being sacrificed at the alter of Triple H, a Women's title squash randomly being Raw's main event for the evening instead of their new belt, and closing the show on a 20 minute borefest that ended in a drawn out DQ. Even Eddie / Edge and Angle / Benoit weren't really anything worth seeing. Didn't Van Dam get a phantom pinfall on HHH during a ref bump? Speaking of said ref bump, didn't Van Dam only lose because Flair turned on him and whacked him with the sledgehammer? I only mention it because I see this brought up a lot and feel there are far worse examples of the 'Reign of Terror' like the Booker T gig or vacating the WHC only to win it back a few weeks later regardless. I have to say, while I loved HHH at the time in hindsight I could definitely see just how f***ing horrendous 02-03 HHH was. A whole show served as a platform for HHH to cosplay as Ric Flair. Clean shaven, with that f***ing abysmal feathered hair and 80s suits. Too much muscle, then too much fat. Just awful. Lightyears behind where he had been 2 to 3 years prior. The Reign of Terror is awful. However, I wish people would cut this "OH HHH JUST BEAT GUYS AND LOOKED TOO STRONG" bullshit. No, he didnt. Not even close. The guy needed outside help on every single big match and his challenger always had some moment where they proved they could beat him. It's just a totally manufactured false narrative.

The 2012 Extreme Rules PPV had the Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus 2/3 falls match that should have been their Mania 24 match, the Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk street fight where they finally had their classic, brutal street fight after being plagued with months of mediocrity, and then the brutally sublime main event of John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar.
This is rounded out by Kane and Randy Orton having a fun Falls Count Anywhere match, and Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show in a tables match where Cody completely outsmarted the big guy by causing Show to step through a table.
