Code Lyoko in live action would be nice, I used to like that show. I think there was one about a decade or so ago. It aired in France, but I can’t remember the subtitle they gave it. Branding. The name alone gives it attention. Would this thread have even been made if it didn’t have the Revoot name attached? I doubt it. Is it a good thing when all the coverage is bad? They're not going to get the people irked by the trailer watching, or making their kids watch it with them no matter what they believe when the buzz is negative. It’s the “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” philosophy. It’s not a philosophy I agree with, but trailers aside there’s bound to be some that will check it out, even if they hated the trailers, simply because if the name. And this is anecdotal, but I’ve seen several comments that how people don’t think it looks bad, just that it doesn’t look like Reboot. And I’m not completely convinced it not looking like Reboot is a complete negative in itself. The show is available for stream on Shout Factory TV. Reboot was the very first computer animated television show. It shows. Especially in the early episodes. * *I’m mostly joking with this and trying to lighten the mood a little.

The idea of tinkering with ReBoot given that the world of computer technology is so different now isn't automatically terrible (I totally get how working in things like the games and the way the original series depicted the Net/Web and not updating them would be tough), but the idea behind it was still "the world inside your computer"; just by including real flesh and blood people you're already walking away from what made the original interesting in the first place.
Plus, the original had an incredibly colorful (bother figuratively and literally) cast of characters; outside of a split second glance at Megabyte we're not going to see anything of them? Again, updating them for a new generation and an updated setting would be very understandable, but yeesh, this looks rough.

I think including a flesh and blood human into ReBoot isn't an inherently bad idea, provided they go a Digimon-esque human-trapped-in-the-digital-world scenario. I mean you could have the people of mainframe view him as some sort of deity while others, such as Dot Matrix, view him with such contempt over the damage he's caused with his games and what he did to her father. Maybe, have him go through a mental crisis when he realizes that he's done so much damage to his system and the people inside and wants to help to repent. It would be more interesting than... this.

www.rebootrevival.com/?p=2774The Reboot revival will include the original cast in some form, grew news, right? Mainframe, after twenty years of technological advancement, have managed to make them look worse.

It’s on Netflix.
Just finished episode one. I liked it. Characters seem likeable enough, with Parker being an early favorite.
The one thing I didn’t particularly care for was Mr. Robot. I’m just hoping in future episodes he becomes more Malcolm Frink and pretty much creates the code for the viruses.

Finally caught episode two. I was never a huge fan of Ann Austin’s overall work on Power Rangers Ninja Storm and Power Rangers Dino Thunder, but she wrote this episode, and I really liked it.
Fast paced, lots of action, some actually pretty humorous comedy and one particularly heartfelt one added up to one job very well done.
And that’s not even counting the awesome that is Megabyte! Part of me wishes after he gets upgraded his name would be changed to Gigabyte, or something more in line with modern tech standards, but Megabyte is a part of the show, and I’m glad it was kept.
Another thing I’m glad for: The guy who does Megabyte’s voice. I was worried about it beforehand, but Fauxny Jay gets a gold star from me.
