Wwe knows mania sells itself. So now the build is to keep people guessing rather than building cards.

Thought Cena wasn't cleared to wrestle at 30 in time That would be WrestleMania 32. Since Cena wasn't medically cleared it was changed to Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon. Right. Cena fought Bray at 30 and was injured the next year

The way Cena brought up the Undertaker match during his promo wasn’t so much Chekov’s Gun as much as seeing the gun and then immidiantly being shot by the gun. And allegedly they were doing that to THROW PEOPLE OFF?! WWE is literally incapable of subtlety at the best of times, they expected people to NOT expect Taker/Cena to happen? Christ... "Checkov's Rifle Blast to the Face" has a pretty good ring to it. Chekov's Spear.

So was that Rey Mysterio thing bullshit or is he a backup plan? If Cena vs Taker is Rey gonna face someone else? Because I am ok with that, put him in the ring with Rollins or something...

The Raw after Fastlane:
Cena: It looks like Big Match John is without a big match at the grandest stage of them all. There was one man I wanted to face more than anything else, but it appears The Undertaker, the Deadman is dead and buried... as the last outlaw rides off into the sunset, I guess it’s time that I do the same and -
*GONG!*
*GONG!*
“Alright partner, keep on rollin’ baby, you know what time it is...”

If the match does happen, I hope Cena brings his A game. I'm struggling to think of the last time he's brought it at a Wrestlemania.

Honestly I have absolutely no clue what the appeal of the match is at this point in time. While the Streak was around, sure, but now it's just a broken down old man against a spot monkey. I’m with you but it’s weird it’s seems going by Monday’s crowd reaction like the fans haven’t watched Taker’s last 4 mania’s I guess that decade of great mania matches has bought him an immense amount of good will but his last decent mania match was 2013 against punk while everything since has gotten sadder and sadder to watch. The era where Taker’s mania match is a guaranteed classic is long dead and gone I guess that’s where only wrestling at mania has benefitted him and people not remembering what happened 5 minutes ago let alone a year ago.

Cena’s promo was to defer attention from the dream match? Goddamn the WWE is stupid if that was the plan. It really seems like they are trying to triage Smackdown and Fastlane with Cena right now. The match with him & Taker doesn’t need a ton of build up, and the less we see Old Man Taker standing across the ring from jacked up Cena, probably the better.

Sorta kinda I was going to buy tickets but i'm meh on it but one my boys already did At this point you buy WM for the atmosphere but this card is all over the place this year Yeah, no kidding. So many wildcards in play based on who brings their working boots or not. Styles/Nakamura have had classics, but Nakamura hasn’t gotten to that top gear yet in his WWE run, and if he doesn’t here, he probably never will. Lesnar/Reigns had a belter at WM31, but it’s a bit of a question mark over whether they can do that again. Angle/Rousey v Triple H/Stephanie will be smoke and mirrors up the wazoo, so no point judging that as a pure match. To a lesser extent, same with Cena/Undertaker. Those will be all spectacle. The only one you could probably put the house on for being a guaranteed great match that’s directly being built to right now is Miz v Balor v Rollins.

I think even if Nak has lost a step him and AJ have so much chemistry they can make it work and obviously AJ is one of the top workers in the world so my expectations are still high for this match. I want Brock/Reigns to be 10 mins of fast paced nonsense like how Goldberg/Brock was last year for 5 mins. Brock doesn't have the gas tank to wrestle for 15-20 mins and while their first match was great, they don't need to repeat that formula again of Brock manhandling Roman majority of the match. Let these two destroy each other for 10 mins of fast paced action Other than that Miz/Balor/Rollins should be good, Asuka/Alexa won't be anything special, Charlotte vs whoever is same as Asuka/Alexa, Taker/Cena will probably have me hype the day of the match but I have low expectations for the actual match and then you still have Raw and SD tag titles plus pre show shit which could be Matt/Bray, Bayley/Sasha, CW championship

Cena vs. Taker should have taken place five years ago, when Taker still had enough in the tank to pull some impressive shit off and when Cena could have absorbed the loss. As it stands now, this would not be the torch-passing it should have been with anyone currently on the roster, nor even the downfall match we got last year. Cena has nothing to gain from this matchup except a paycheck and the "why are we seeing this NOW?" response of the crowd. Roman vs. Lesnar is the coronation, AJ vs. Nak (assuming that's going to be the match for the WWE title) should be good but feels like an afterthought.
The one match that will steal the show will be the I-C three-way dance; and the outcome will largely be determined by Balor's entrance. If it's just the colored gear (or even the black), then it will be a tossup. If he comes out in the bodypaint, with the immersive entrance to rival Taker's, he's not likely walking out empty-handed and we'll all just be watching how he gets to the top of that mountain.

Cena/Rey ain't happening at WM and if it does then nobody wants to see Rey get his ass beaten again.
We're still hurting from the last time.
