So we're starting to get news and rumors about DC's biggest hit so far, and it looks like they're determined to mess the sequel up.
Apparently Kristin Wiig is in the lead for the villain, Cheetah. Get the f*** outta here. Cheetah should be a match for Wonder Woman.
Somebody like Kate Beckinsale, Sienna Miller, or Charlize Theron would make perfect sense. But no, let's get the unfunny woman from Ghostbusters. Yeah, and I doubt this is a "Everybody said Ledger would suck as Joker" situation.
Also, rumor has it that Emma Stone turned the role down. This casting is baffling.

Heath Ledger. Ben Affleck. Chris Evans. Until the movie comes out, I don’t think you can judge a casting announcement.

She'd have to get in shape though in order to give off the perception that she's a formidable opponent for Diana.

She doesn’t even have to get into that great of shape. No way she isn’t CGI as the Cheetah.

I did have doubts with Ledger, and I can admit I was wrong. I just don't get this one. She's done nothing but cornball comedies. The only semi serious movie she's done has been The Skeleton Twins, right? At least Ledger had a variety of movies and showed a lot of range. Even if Wiig gets in ridiculous shape, I wouldn't buy her as a threat to Wonder Woman. I also figured Cheetah would be CGI, but even that sounds cheesey, maybe a half and half like how Cable will be in Deadpool 2.

Anybody as Cheetah would be a step up from the villains in the first Wonder Woman. And I'm not even that big a fan of the character.

I personally think she’s a bit too old for the character.

Not to derail my own thread, but does anybody think Angie Everheart would have been a perfect Tigra back in the day? 😁

Wiig has some range and can handle dramatic roles (she did pretty well as Annie in The Martian, which was a more serious part for her). It's just that we usually think of Cheetah as an athletic, credible physical antagonist for Diana, and, well...the only way Kristin Wiig beats Gal Gadot in a fight is with a buffet of chair shots and a Starrcade '97 fast count.

Charlize Theron. That's my first pick. Has an Oscar, bankable star, action veteran, and has the look to stand up to Diana. I fear that with Wiig, they'll make her a crazy cat lady who gets powers instead of another warrior. Just to play to Wiig's comedic background. I don't even hate Wiig, I just think it's a weird choice for that role.

Would have preferred Giganta, because even if they don't look that much a threat at human size when at giant size it doesn't matter.
And I know it's most likely the Barbara Ann Minerva Cheetah, but is there any chance it's the Priscilla Rich one instead?

They already did Ares, I guess Cheetah this time and Giganta the next. After that, who knows?

What are the odds that DC freaks out and decides to "secure"(corporate speech to meddle with and change what they think is for the best) the film, ending up ruining it

I guess that's more WB than DC, but I could be wrong.

Circe Dr. Psycho would be interesting, though his character might bring some manner of gender politics into the movie that DC/WB might want to avoid.

Wiig is an interesting choice. I'd have never thought of her for the role, but I'm curious
