I feel ripped off that she's not fighting Catwoman and the Penguin.

The trailer would of been soo much better if she yelled "I'm Mary Poppins Y'all" in it.

Somethings don't need a sequel This is one of them. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure there were a number of people who liked the first Mary Poppins, but was the public really clamouring for a sequel 55 years later? But, then again, what do I know? I'm still waiting on the sequel for Robin Hood.

The previous record was 46 years between the Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz.

No, don’t do it Disney. Don’t awaken the vengeful spirit of P.L Travers!

Now in production is a live action movie with photorealistic mice, presumably just tiled BAKER STREET or BASIL.

Kinda surprised that Mouse Detective didn't get one of the cheapquels, especially since it's reception was what set the stage for Disney's Renaissance.

Wasn't it also one of the films that didn't do so well box office wise? That might have been a factor, even if it lead to future movies.

So it was a success, both critically and financially (albeit not a huge one), and was what convinced Disney that animated features were still worth their time.

Poking around a bit, it did do about triple its budget so not really a money loser so much, but every movie around it except Black Cauldron brought in like at least twice what it did.

But, then again, what do I know? I'm still waiting on the sequel for Robin Hood. Considering the absolute rewrite of human history Disney performed bringing SAVING MR. BANKS into existance (remember everything that happened in that movie? it didn't, like....at all), they actually manufactured that interest and wove it into our souls. We've always wanted Mary Poppins Returns. It was destined. Always. And with your post, you have identified yourself as an unbeliever and the mouse guard will be by your home shortly to slaughter your loved ones and feed your blood to the soil of Walt's Earth.
