Depends on what we’re basing our decision on. Weapon? Donatello. Attitude? Raphael.

Mikey. So much so that I named my orange tabby cat after him.
Donatello was my favorite to use in the video games because of the long reach you got with his bo staff.

Donatello, since purple is my favorite color, and in martial arts, the staff was my best weapon.
Wasn't a fan of Raphael, simply because I always thought he had the lamest weapon.

I’ll be honest. What turned me off to Raphael was the live action movie. For me, cartoon is more canonical. Raph is great in that. They all are. Movie changed crap to make him standardized pity character and others played as lackeys. I just wanted to punch live action Raph repeatedly. Given way too big a role. Know your role.

As a kid:
1. Michelangelo 2. Raphael 3. Donatello 4. Leonardo
Now:
1. Raphael 2. Michelangelo 3. Donatello 4. Leonardo
Leonardo pissed me off a lot as the serious leader. I always liked the badass Raphael character & Michelangelo was always funny to me. Donatello I liked a lot too.

I used to be a HUGE Leonardo mark. Still love the guy, because he was the one that had the twin swords, and I always thought that was just so awesome. I also had a huge soft spot for Donatello because of the original TMNT NES game.
However, my favorite is Slash. When I saw this "super mutant" ninja turtle kick the stuffing out of the fab four in his first appearance in the original cartoon show, I hated his guts. I begged my mom for an action figure of him, just so I could have my TMNT figures kick his sorry ass. She got him for me...and my whole outlook suddenly changed. Slash's figure was far more badass looking than his cartoon counterpart. The cool blue skin, the spiked shell, the black mask and pads, the Shredder-like claws, the mouth full of broken and sharp demonic teeth, the cool pink "evil versions" of the TMNT's weapons...the guy had everything going for him! His Archie Comics version was also pretty tough, and is one of the few characters I ever saw whoop Raphael's ass, no problem. Add to the fact that I love "evil versions" of traditionally good characters (Cyborg Superman, Faker from Masters of the Universe, Venom, ect) and Slash became the most beloved figure for TMNT I ever owned.
Sadly, I have to admit that I couldn't stand his more current redesign. He looked like an obese fat slob with an itty bitty teeny tiny head. Maybe that wasn't their intention, and I haven't actually seen what he truly looks like in the cartoon itself (I thought I saw that he was actually sort of a giant), but the action figure is what I'm judging, and it was just awful and disappointing.
Anyway, in closing, my vote goes to Slash with special love to Leo and Donny. I felt Raph and Mike were always the most popular, but I never really cared for either of them. In their own ways, they each annoyed me for different reasons.

I try to be a little more light hearted on this message board, but my real life personality is so close to original movie Raphael it's scary. He's my favorite because I can relate to him the most. He's an angry person, but it comes from a good heart.

It's always been Michelangelo. Don't ask me why I grew so attached to him as a kid. I used to have the big plastic figure of him, but when I grew out of that I gave him to my niece. She called him Turtle Baby, it was hilarious.

Raphael. As a smart-ass kid (And now a smart-ass adult), I always identified with him the most. I wanted him to wreck Leonardo's shit in the 1990 movie so very bad when I was a kid.

Leo or Donatello.
Weapon reach in the NES Turtles game FTW.

Raphael for me.
Leonardo suffers from Cyclops syndrome, too much of a boy scout.

Longtime Mikey fan When I was in college, I had three other friends where we'd meet up, try weird pizza and watch the original cartoon on VHS to pick out all the animation mistakes. Then we'd go to an arcade and hit the 4 player machine. The Leonardo fan was the oldest of the four of us. The Donatello fan was a comp-sci major. The Raphael fan had the same stinging humor. Me? Comic books, video games and cartoons - and weird pizza
