I can’t wait to find out what the team nicknames are as they are often terrible.

I figured they go with the city and coaching part of things. I wondering how we don't know more because one would think any city that getting a team local media would said something and get leaked from there.

I want to see some so-bad-they-are-good nicknames. Like the St Louis Spareribs, Florida Mice or the Seattle Hipsters

They should use old timey names like the Atlanta Railroad Guards or the Orlando Fighting Gentlemen.

Those are clearly XFL names.

I'm hoping for a St. Louis team as well. Honestly surprised they went Altanta for the fact they have an NFL team. I figure they go in big non NFL markets cities. I figure the next five I hope would be St. Louis, San Antonio, San Deigo, Birmingham, and either North West team such as Orgeon or Settle, or a NY area team because it's NY.

I wonder if Vince will expedite his league. He's gonna throw it in the Lake Of Reincarnation. Brother He Hate Me, I knew you'd come!

For this league to be a success - and by "success" I don't mean "compete legitimately with the NFL," I mean "not fold within three seasons," the smart thing to do would be to load up on cities without NFL franchises. There's clearly an appetite for professional football in places like Orlando, Portland, St. Louis, San Antonio, San Diego, and Toronto, so it would be wise to place teams in those cities where you could conceivably draw 40,000 or more to an AAFL game. They presumably have to put a franchise in a major market like Atlanta or New York City, because you need the glitz and size of a major city to attract potential players and sponsors, but after that, you've got to start gobbling up all the non-NFL cities and call them your own. Hell, you could even put a team in Birmingham and use it as a tool to recruit Alabama and Auburn graduates and have an instant fan base ready to rabidly support their team.

From what everything announced by the AAF they are not looking to compete against the NFL like Vince wanted and he will fail to do so. They stated they really if the NFL comes calling for a player after even one season, that player can go to the NFL. In a lot of ways they are the farm system the NFL never had. The other thing is that they also said on the original announcement to have a Ten year investor plan. The AAF have done just about all the right things with this for it to work. If the other cities are the one we said, they should be fine. Vince and his XFL should be the one worried for the flop again because the AAF is going to be starting there second season when Vince starts his first which means two years of picking from the best talent out there from two college none drafted players, unsigned players from the NFL I'm guessing and where ever else. Plus the AAF put in so many great Football minded people in charge. How Vince will announce that should be interesting. Plus I bet AAF as more funds backing them than Vince is 100 Million.

SL head coach is Dennis Erickson and the next team press confernce will be Friday is Phoenix. So 3 teams remain and I'm sure one them is going to be a NY area team.

AAF haven't made the official hint or announcement yet but looks like San Deigo is getting a team and Mike Martz is the coach. Which just talked about this if St. Louis who would coach and he was the name that came up. Source. link

He made something out of nothing in Bulger, but the scheme just got consistently worse/more figured out.
