Episode 2 {Spoiler}Well, pretty much as I expected. Reveal of Endeavor and Hawks encountering Dabi, the aftermath and reveal that Hawks has been assigned to spy on the League, Endeavor having an awkward dinner, and Deku getting a bit of a history lesson between OfA and AfO.
The pacing has been a bit messed up in ways. Like in the manga, it was Endeavor's fight with High End, then Dabi, then Hawks reveal and then another reveal that he's spying on the League, then the dinner... and then after that it's Deku's part. I guess to hype the current season, the previous season did the tease for Deku after High End, giving the pace a bit of a messy feel.
In any case, more or less expect the rest of the season to flow much more like the manga. Further along the anime. Anime-onlies DON'T READ SPOILERS. SERIOUSLY DON'T LOOK. {Spoiler}My general guess is that current season will end with the trio with Endeavor meeting with Hawks, and Hawks passing the book to Endeavor which leads to him realizing the plan.

So, while I've been sick, I went and ordered a bunch of the Manga volumes.
I now own Volumes 1-11, even though I cannot find my copy of volume 1 that I already had, and it is seriously upsetting me.
Volume 6 took some real effort to even find. That's the one that has Stain, so it's pretty popular.

I don't think it'll go that long. At most, I think it'll end up at about 400 to 450 chapters, total

I'd rather it not go like One Piece and been going on for 25 years and the ending is still a decade away.

It seems most recent manga creators have a more or less set story they want to tell, and then finish the story, opposed to something like One Piece, which I've never really been all that into, and more and more it feels like "the real One Piece was the friends we made along the way" is a plausible ending for that.

One Piece is good but the longer the story has gone on, the treasure will def not live up to the hype after all these years Jujutsu Kaisen from jump def didn't seem like a long story so that being 5-7 years is not surprising. Shounen is still in a good spot but you def have to account for popular stories ending like Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer and Promised Neverland ending recently. Jujutsu Kaisen and MHA is on the way out. Black Clover is still around but that's also closing in on 300 chapters and could end at any point

Unless Roger's treasure is enough to fill an entire continent, its going to be a letdown

I would have been extremely satisfied if that was where it ended.

I also forgot to mention Dr Stone and Fire Force is running strong but they can also finish up at any moment as well Shounen is wide open for something great to come in. Tho a part of me does hope some Manga get to finish their story in anime form like Bleach is about to. Hitman Reborn is def one of them

I am pretty sure it ends with Deku losing all his powers and quirkless like he was in the beginning of the series. It is going to be something like when Ichigo lost his powers in Bleach, only it ends there like it should have, Kubo kept it going too long but that is another story for another series.

So, we're at match 5 of the current arc.
Anime-only watchers, what are your thoughts so far? And, what are your thoughts on what will happen past match 5?

There are two anime only reaction channels that cover MHA that I watch, and I cannot wait for them to cover this episode.
They only cover the dub, so it'll be a few weeks, but I eagerly await their freakouts.

Guessed them since they watch the dub.

The heroes get a standing boovation from me. As a Canadian, it is only natural to boo the good guys. Jokes aside, one of the things I appreciate about the series the most are the compelling characters and interesting powers that some of them have. I also like how certain elements of the series are inspired by superhero comics themselves. Being a Marvel fan, it so was easy for me to get into the series. One of my biggest gripes when it comes to MHA however, is the fact the female characters aren't given enough opportunity to stand out in their own way. They're more or less stuck in a support role.

Momo is the leader in everything next to Iiya. Uraraka has had a few fights under her belt and more than just love interest of the MC
