Hopefully the plate isn’t on the top, because... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Battlebots had officially revealed the first three fight session recordings(and in doing so revealing that at the very least the first episode of the season will be 2 hours long(1 hour only for international markets), but considering all the sessions had the same lengths, possible it is 2 hours across the board, so 16 2 hour long episodes would certainly be more fights televised than last season’s 20 1 hour episodes), and Blacksmith is being used as Quantum’s first opponent to see just how good that crusher really is.
I love that Blacksmith has kind of morphed into this gatekeeper role, like X-Pac was. If you can’t have a good match with them, you trash. Two hours of Battlebots a week. My body, it is ready. So here are the first three session lineups(and thus possibly the first three Fight Night cards): {Spoiler}Duck vs Bombshell
The Four Horsemen vs Lucky vs Double Jeopardy
Kraken vs Ribbot
Sawblaze vs Rotator
Cobalt vs Captain Shrederator
End Game vs Deathroll
Quantum vs Blacksmith
MAIN EVENT
Tombstone vs Lockjaw
~~~
DAY 1 SESSION 2
Son Of Whyachi vs Huge
Texas Twister vs Black Dragon
Marvin vs Gruff vs Gemini
Witch Doctor vs Shatter
Mammoth vs Axe Backwards
Subzero vs Wan Hoo
Gigabyte vs Chronos
MAIN EVENT
Minotaur vs Whiplash
~~~
DAY 2 SESSION 1
Hypershock vs Valkyrie
Breaker Box vs Falcon
Jasper vs Uppercut vs Tantrum
Monsoon vs Ragnarok
WAR Hawk vs Petunia
Skorpios vs Copperhead
Free Shipping vs Hydra
MAIN EVENT
Bite Force vs Yeti Damn good matchups across the board.

So looking at some of the photos of the bots this season thus far:
- Quantum looks nice BUT when was the last time a crusher did well on Battlebots or Robot Wars since the days of Razer? - Texas Twister has a drone? No. Just... no. Fuzzy, no. Please, Fuzzy. No. - Guess Pinkie Pie's team realized they couldn't use that name. Rainbow it is but I would have gone with Painbow. - Maybe it's just me but I'm not sold on Cobalt 2.0's design. I'd rather they brought back the original Cobalt. - Bombshell looks much better than last season and should do much better... if DUCK! doesn't send everything off the rails in the first fight. - Are Minotaur's wheels bigger? Because it seems a little bit more off the ground than normal. - Tantrum now has a spinning wheel with punching device. OK, I guess? - So Ian Watts seems to have brought The Swarm/Creepy Crawlies instead of last season's Four Horsemen. I respect the man but the multibot thing just ain't working. - The hell is Daisy Cutter supposed to be?

Battlebots has released photos and info on every bot competing this year on their site, and here's more observations from me:
- Falcon's dual drum idea has my interest piqued but let's see how that actually works. - Jasper's chassis is mostly plastic? Oh dear god. - ….NIGHTMARE IS COMING BACK AFTER ALL. BE STILL, MY BEATING HEART. - Nelly's team captain runs the Shuntposting page on Facebook. Almost makes me want to actually do something with the account I made and intentionally abandoned the very same day. - Turns out the Ewerts aren't the only family doing different things. Hal Rucker's daughter Hannah has Marvin. - Sharkoprion came back too! Got a new, darker coat of paint and some detailing in case there's questions as to whether the bot was added by accident since supposedly Ed WASN'T coming back. - The two Chinese bots have my interest but I want to know what everyone else thinks about WanHoo and Railgun MAX.

The main guess behind the Sharko and Nightmare inclusions is that they are alternates this year, especially since Sharko apparently arrived after filming began. So most likely used in one or two “official” fights and then mainly used in exhibition and grudge matches. Wan Hoo and Railgun Max do interest me a bit, especially being specifically Chinese machines and not merely robots from Western teams who appeared at Chinese events. However I do feel they are probably towards the bottom of the twin-disc/drum/eggbeater spinners meta this year.
