This looks really good.
I enjoyed the first one, the decapitated head in a tree photo that kept getting closer to the head was creepy as hell.
I hope they tone down that huge blast of noise thet did when sonething creepy happened though. I dont need a crescendo of noise to let me know sonething creepy happened

I dunno man, CGI horror effects are just never scary to me. I do agree that the CGI for Pennywise isn't scary. Bill Skarsgard is a talented enough actor to make usage of amazing practical effects and convey the character of Pennywise. That last shot of him in the trailer with him laughing excitingly with manic evil showed how great he is. Why they have to hide it using CGI is completely beyond me.

I heard a rumour (so take it with a grain of salt) that this will feature the Adrian Melon scene, which especially today is as controversial as you can get. It was hard to tell, but there might've been a shot of it in the second trailer with the drowning man. {Spoiler}I was assuming that was possibly Henry Bowers as the drowning man?

I enjoyed the trailer and I definitely want to go see the movie, but the thing that gave me chills was the last shot with him practically "normal".

If the movie moves along at a good pace, I actually can buy that runtime not feeling as long as it may seem.

I finally got around to finishing the novel and I have to say it was an amazing read. My only concern is the ending of the film. I hope they go into a different direction in the film. {Spoiler}The idea of them forgetting each other absolutely depressed me. The fact that as kids they fought this ancient demonic entity, made a blood pact to return and kill it should Pennywise resurface. As adults they return to Derry and successfully kill Pennywise. Slowly but surely they start to forget about each other afterwards. Hopefully it's different in the film and they remain in touch in some fashion without losing the memories.

I’m cool with it. But an intermission would be nice if you could get the theatre chain to go for it. It’s a chance for the audience to buy more snacks!

I wonder if we will get the giant spider at the end, except it will look a lot more terrifying than the one in the TV movie.

I figure yes and yes to that. I was always disappointed at the time with the tv film finale, as I hadn't read the book, not having the clown there at the end. I just wanted more Tim Curry, dammit.
Later on and nowadays, yeah, I'd want the spider.

I can't screencap, but 0:16 in. What on earth? I think I know what scene that is, possibly. Could be one of the book scenes not in the original.

So the early consensus is out and it seems to be a mixed bag. Lot of people believe it to be overlong and that it isn't really "scary" (then again, Chapter 1 is the same). But they do give praise to the fact that this tries to be ambitious. Most of the praise is also going to Bill Hader.

But they do give praise to the fact that this tries to be ambitious. Most of the praise is also going to Bill Hader. I saw an early screening late last night. I enjoyed it, overall. But I have to agree with the overlong criticism. Bill Hader did a great job, but my favorite was James Mcavoy, but I am probably biased as I have been a big fan of his since "Wanted." Again, I think it was really good, if not a bit below the first one.
