I'm 31, and don't own a home Yeah but you're a unique situation. No reason to feel bad about it. You're doing what works for you and being financially responsible.

24. My wife and I bought a one bedroom condo in 2010 for 115K-ish. Sold it in 2016 at a loss for 105K. Had to get out of there since we had a baby, and we couldn't rent it at an amount sufficient to cover the mortgage. Everything about buying that condo was a bad decision.
I'd LOVE to get a single family home, but saving up a down payment is seemingly impossible between rent, daycare, student loans, and surprise expenses like auto repairs. We make about 140K together. We spend way too much eating out all the time, but we just can't get motivated to cook at home.

24 and I tried to back out when it became evident that the seller was hiding water damage. I wound up backing off and wish I had not because I was not only right on the water damage, but they painted over serious mold issues and the house had some structural issues. I tried to get a lawyer in order to sue over it, but was told in my state that I had to fix the house first in order to have some actual damages to sue over.
Eventually I literally bankrupted myself trying to make that f***ing money pit livable. Eventually when the bank called and threatened one too many times to foreclose on me I said, "That sounds great! Go ahead and do it! I need to declare bankruptcy and restart anyways!" At that moment the phone calls stopped being threatening and started being all "Let's work something out. We are willing to refinance" but by that point I was over home ownership at that time (this was during the economic downturn following 9/11 and the dual Enron/MCI collapses and before bankers learned how to make foreclosures more profitable than offering mortgages that did not turn upside down).
I declared bankruptcy, went back to school, did a hard reboot on my life, and eventually bought another, much nicer house at the age of 38.
