I just got back and it was awesome. I know a lot of you are upset that the deaths aren't permanent, but the heroes still lost and we were presented with an appropriate ending. And the music during the credits only hammered in the gravity of the situation.
The Red Skull appearance was great and I'm glad we finally resolved his disappearance.
It was amazing seeing Rocket and Groot fighting along with the Avengers. And Rocket's interaction with Bucky was great.
Thanos was layered and three dimensional. He totally makes up for his limited usage over the past decade.
I need more Ebony Maw
I'm surprised we barely got any Hulk, but that just means more Mark Ruffalo.
I may have been the only person in my crowd who caught the stinger. I saw the logo and said (somewhat loudly) "Captain Marvel," and people were like "ohhhh, okay!"
Nice reference to the Infinity Gauntlet and War comics, which both ended with Thanos sitting in his farm and staring at the scenery
My trailers:
Adrift Venom Mission Impossible Unbroken Ocean's 8 Ant-Man and Wasp Jurassic World Solo
Can't believe I remembered all them

Based on everything I've read so far, it's set shortly before or possibly concurrently with IW. Edit: Marvel just confirmed that it's set just after Civil War. Having seen it twice now, I can confidently say that Infinity War is a total misdirection. Everybody who dies in it will return, except maybe Heimdall, since Idris Elba has said he's done with the role (what is it with the Thor cast all wanting out?). Maybe Loki, too, since his final act being one of self-sacrifice to save the brother he so often tried to kill is a good way to go out. All that said, I do not expect there to not be a body count in A4, and that those deaths will be permanent. I was thinking that if you died before the finger-snap, you stay dead. So that would include Gamora and the Asgardians. Depends how they go about resolving it. Do they just undo the snap, or do they undo everything Thanos has done? The Russos have already shut down the possibility of alternate dimensions, which basically just leaves time travel. Plus I don't see a GOTGv3 without Gamora.

Calling it now. Gamoras only partly dead, she's in the soul stone. RedSkull said the stone is wisdom. Thanos had to sacrifice gamora for the soul stone but now he has to carry that with him forever, with Gamora being his own Jiminy Cricket. He'll bring her back when it guilt becomes too much.

I read the spoilers because I was originally planning on taking my kiddos...now I'm not so sure. Just from reading the spoilers I think I'll be telling them that they have to wait for Netflix where we can start, stop and talk about it. F*** I don't know if I can handle it my damn self. I hear you. I saw a midnighf screening tonight & I was planning to take my 7 year old son on Saturday morning to see it & I'm really questioning that plan. His absolute favorite is Spider-Man & if him dying in Starks arms like that had me getting watery eyes I can't even imagine how he might handle that.

It was amazing seeing Rocket and Groot fighting along with the Avengers. And Rocket's interaction with Bucky was great. I loved that the whole conversation was almost a throwback to the first Guardians movie with the arm stuff. But I agree with you. Of course the deaths aren't permanent, you'd be foolish to think they are or will be. But it left the films at a cliffhanger and gave them their first real loss that people have been saying hasn't come for a while. Their mistakes, especially Quill's on Titan, lead to all this happening and the next movie'll be the rescue mission to undo the damage and hopefully leverage some unseen faces in the universe or the 'midcard' like M'Baku, Wang and Okoye. I mean, this has been the case for movies since movies were a thing. It's never been about whether the heroes win or not, but about how they win that makes it compelling and right now, the odds are REALLY stacked against them with how ravaged their ranks are. Just give me the Shuri/Stark meeting that we deserve please, Marvel. It's all I ask for.

There were a few nice callbacks. Rocket giving Thor the eye, and Loki saying "We have a Hulk."

My sister was upset that it didn't get a happy ending, but my brother-in-law and I had to explain to her that it will be concluded in the next film that will come out next year. I personally saw it coming that it was to help set up the next film. Personally, I thought it was great and I will see it again.

Red Skull I'm of too minds about. It was like: "Oh cool that's awesome."
Then when you think about if for awhile, you're left with more questions. "How?" "Why?" It's still cool, it's just really random haha.

The woman next to me was almost in shock...kind of how I was. Like, people don't really talk during the credits during any screening but...it was like, everyone was wondering what just happened. Waiting for the cut to it being undone or something, but it not coming.

It's still cool, it's just really random haha. It seems like after the Tesseract transported him that he went all in on trying to find more Stones just to become eternally cursed by them. Almost a cautionary tale for Thanos.

And I'm not saying this stuff SHOULDN'T have been answered fully earlier (even though you had never heard so many gasps at a screening before, it was awesome), it was probably the best they could do considering Weaving didn't come back any sooner. That was a plot hole that needed to be filled somehow.

Yeah, you've got to infer that. It's just funny cuz 'ain't nobody there; how did he know all that?' I LIKE it, and the questions are intriguing, it just raised em.

No, for sure, it was a cool thing to have and for people in the know, again, there were so many gasps and whispers of "That's Red Skull".
Seriously, there were moments when it was an amazing theatre experience. The crowd went crazy when Cap appeared for the first time, for example.

Kevin Feige has been hyping up MCU Carol as "the most powerful being we've introduced," including Thanos.
