My question is when or how did Taskmaster get footage of Black Panther's fighting techniques Civil War perhaps. Either that or he's been active between films leading up to this

Not unexpected but big oof... wonder if this means they'll do something like Universal with their new releases....
or if they'll just wait until later.

Not surprised at all and it's for the best, though it's definitely unfortunate for those eager for it.

I'm a fan of Black Widow ... and I like the rest of the cast... Boo to the delays... but it's understandable...

I wish they did the baller move and just tossed it on Disney+. That would have been cool as hell. I get why they wouldn't but still.

Part of the problem with that is they don't get as much money if they put it on Disney + as they would in theaters... but... not sure how they can exactly do that with the cinemas being on lockdown pretty much everywhere...

Just think... If the pandemic happened one year earlier, Endgame would have been impacted instead. Marvel has to be grateful it wasn't their big cash cow. Not that this is exactly favorable in any scenario. But for them, it could've been catastrophic.

Definitely. My line of thinking is, they'll almost certainly take a hit regardless, especially with a ton of other blockbusters being postponed, which will see them running into issues with other films that were already scheduled to be released during a certain period, if the cinemas ever make a comeback at all. I'm sure they have people much more clued in than me making these decisions but to me it'd be a pretty cool move to just cut their losses, make it a Disney+ exclusive to hook people in, especially as a lot of people seem to have let their subscriptions lapse after the first season of the Mandalorian ended, and it gets them a ton of shine. I'll still see it whenever they plan to release it and in whatever format they want to release it in, though.

Mild silver lining the virus hit during a historically slow movie time?

And when they come back, a lot are probably going to be taking less seating, to enforce social distancing. It will take a couple of months of "We've got the virus under control", before things start to even resemble life before Covid. Also, money is going to be a hell of a lot tighter for people after cut hours or not being able to work during this.

Honestly, between them taking so long to get a female-led Marvel film in general and a Black Widow-led Marvel film in particular, then them announcing the Black Widow movie after that character died in Endgame, I'm sure kicking the movie to Disney+ (admittedly for reasons far beyond their control) would see some backlash.

Agreed. Even if it takes awhile they need to put this one in theatres.

So, now that Mulan is going to Disney+ for $29.99 (that's on top of the subscription fee), the question is is being asked again: what are the chances Marvel will just release Black Widow to streaming?
My thoughts, right up top, have not changed (didn't realize that exchange was the last word on this subject for over four months).

My thoughts, right up top, have not changed (didn't realize that exchange was the last word on this subject for over four months). We’re not there yet. Disney/Marvel will move heaven and hell to get to theaters. I think Pay Per Stream is only if there is no other option. We have to be real though - theaters are not going to be anywhere near what they were for at least a year. So unless they want to slide everything for a year, opening Widow in May ‘21, dunno what to tell you.

It's been confirmed Mulan is just a one-off and that Widow will remain theatrical

It's been confirmed Mulan is just a one-off and that Widow will remain theatrical I think it's the case of a Disney Property versus a Disney Owned Property, if that makes sense?

It should be in theaters; the character has earned as much.
Plus, I could get an IMAX ticket to see it for half of what they'd charge, based on the price of Mulan. $30 is insane unless you have a bunch of people together.
