Yep. BB2 went the Fast & Furious II road of being so bad it crossed over in to being perversely entertaining. If I'm not watching anything and I see it on TNT or something I usually put it on as background noise. "You ever make love to a man?" "no sir.." "Want to??" That scene is f***ing fantastic

As a young black boy when that first movie came out, I LOVED Bad Boys. Martin and Will were f***ing gods in my book with those movies. So yeah sure why not. As a young white kid but a huge fan of 'Martin' and 'Fresh Prince,' you're damned right the first movie was my jam. Well that, and Tea Leoni was a prototype Megan Fox and a total smoke show as the third:

That scene is f***ing fantastic "ain't gon' be no f***ing tonight"As shitty as Bad Boys 2 is, it's still insanely quotable. Plus I won't hear a bad word against Joey Pants' performance. - I can't believe you guys. Do you get up in the morning, call each other up - "Good morning, Marcus." "Good morning, Mike." "How you doin'?" "Ai'ight." "So, how are we going to f*** up the captain's life today?" "Gee, I don't know, I don't know... Ooh, look! Over there. Let's kill three fat people and leave them on the street?"
- They were dead before we ran over them. - It doesn't matter if they were dead or not, goddamn it! Every time you leave a corpse on the street, I have to get these detective guys to come in and see what happened. See? They're detecting shit. Then I've gotta get these forensic coroner guys to stick 'em back in the f***ing bag! Jesus Christ!

"I'm 15, Mr. Burnett."
"Motherf***er you look 30!"

And then Tea went on to have her show, The Naked Truth, which I think is/was criminally underrated.

I cannot wait for this! There had been talk for years of a third film, but it's now finally happening. I remember hearing that there were plans for a fourth one, but really, I think it would be best for the third film to be the conclusion of the trilogy. I could see it being Mike and Marcus doing one final case before retirement and passing the torch onto two younger detectives.

Only ever saw the second one, but I thought it was a spectacular action comedy. Buddy comedy art against insane action sequences (particularly when the gangsters start dropping boats off the trailer), what’s not to love?
With that said I’ll believe this exists when I see a trailer. When was the last time Martin Lawrence was even in a film, and they’d have to back up a dump truck full of money for Smith. He might do it as a courtesy but nothing I’ve seen suggests he really wants to make this film.

At first I had a problem with Lawrence not getting into shape for this but the movie actually plays into it well and the sub plot about him wanting to retire so no issue with it.
I do love atleast some portion of this has the tone of the original because while I enjoyed BB2 I felt there was just far too much going on and just lost something the original had.

January seems like a weird release month. Thought this would be a Summer release.

January seems like a weird release month. Thought this would be a Summer release. There's really no peak time for R-rated movies, they tend to make similar amounts of amount of money no matter what time of year they're released, though they are still susceptible to taking a hit from other big releases. January is somewhat light on movies that would compete for the same demographics. Birds of Prey is released 2-3 weeks after, but Bad Boys will have done the bulk of its business by then.

Yeah, I dunno why, but watching the trailer it felt more like a sequel to the first than the second. Anyway, looks fun. I’ll watch it. Something endearing about seeing the two at this old ass point in their (and their characters) lives. It’s also refreshing to see something Will Smith can be in where it looks like he’s just having fun. This looks like that.

From the looks of things, it seems that things didn't work out between Mike and Syd from the second film. One theory could be because there is that spin-off show called LA's Finest, and I could only guess that Gabrielle Union wasn't asked to return. Then again, I had heard rumors of a Bad Boys 4 being in the works, but after all this time, I think this would be the best way to cap off the series.
I am planning to see it, by the way.

Using a hot track from 2001 to hype up your big 2019 release. Classic.
