I don't know if this got stated earlier but I saw a lot of talk about LMS being involved with the cancellation and while I think that show is garbage the decision was probably related more to LMS being produced by Fox's TV studios, so even if the ratings aren't strong they save more money than they did with 99. It's been something of a trend with this recent cancellation spree from the networks that they're getting rid of shows that aren't produced in-house. Also makes sense why NBC picked it up as their studio makes 99. The real irony of all that being, by around this time next year, they won’t even have a TV studio because either Disney or Comcast’ll have it and the film production. So they’d probably still have to rely on external productions and pay money for that anyway. That’s not to say you’re not wrong but it’s the stranger thing about all this from FOX’s end.

Minor bump for something to consider in hindsight... It may be highly possible that FOX cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the first place to free up money for their successful bid to get the rights to WWE SmackDown.
