He’d probably be gone anyway by this point. He strikes me as having never really wanted to keep wrestling much past 40.

He would have had the matches with his friends + NJPW guys (another series with main event level Bryan, Styles, Joe, Balor, Nakamura) then probably fade out of the spotlight into part time/retirement.

And everyone has Triple H to thank for that. That was a bitch move. You could've waited to fire the f***er but to do it on his wedding day is just a dick less move. Yup. Savior of wrestling Triple H did that.

He would probably have retired by now. Considering just how battered he was by the end of his run, I doubt that he had that much left to give.

I don't see any scenario where he would have stuck around.
Even without the Staph infection, he and HHH had beef, and I think he still would have left just to get away from HHH.

There's making decisions for the sake of business and there's decisions to f*** a man's life up. Triple H chose the second one. That shit served no purpose at all. Them fighting words.

He would've jobbed to Roman.

Punk probably would have took a break when his contract expired in the summer of 2014. I'd guess he would have returned on a Jericho or Lesnar contract or went back to ROH or done some work with NJPW. I seriously doubt he'd be full time for anyone at this point in 2018.

He would've jobbed to Roman. He did that already back in January 2014

Rumor was he was leaving after MITB that year so not much would be different. Maybe he’d still be able to do business with WWE (working with Vince over Hunter) and had a Jericho like short term run or two but not much. Might have him over Corey on SDL or Nigel on NXT.

Assuming his health wasn't an issue and something tragic didn't occur, I feel he'd likely occupy a spot similar to the one Orton's occupied for the past few years.
More than likely somewhere along the way they would've misguidingly turned him heel again and tried to pair him with Roman to help build him up further and try to get the fans to cheer him.

I see him being a Rollins type at the moment. Holds a lesser championship, but could be sent up to lose in a title match at any moment. He would be complaining a lot though.

Here's my question: why are we treating "CM Punk as a strong upper midcarder" as such a horrible scenario? CM Punk: United States Champion. Kinda has a nice ring to it. Plus he'd be in the echelon of WWE Grand Slam Champions.

Look what Rollins has done minus the shield reunion and probably that.
