I hate it for her. I hope she doesn't have a real drug problem and that she's not in a bad state right now.
Part of me hopes she can stay clean and continue to wrestle in Mexico, UK, US, etc.
Always liked her.

Considering that over here in the U.S., one's career/life can be destroyed by a single tweet or leaked video I don't see how PROBATION and her wrestling career ending for being on drugs is ridiculous. I'd say she got off light. But one wouldn’t be thrown in jail for those things. I too think the sentence is completely ridiculous for a non violent drug offense. Sadly, that's the law over there and you know by doing the drugs you are breaking the law and the consequences that come with it
That's not to say it's fair but that's what it is and everyone knows it

It's true that everyone knows it, but unfortunately we can't really apply logic like that to a lot of forms of drug abuse. I don't know Hamada's full situation, she may well not be really addicted to anything, but just in general no amount of "don't do it, or else!" will likely prevent someone with an addiction from pursuing their high.

I never really understood her push in TNA. I didn’t realize she was half Hispanic. She has an interesting look to her. Japan seems to really hate drugs. That’s okay, I do, too. Well, she can always go to Mexico. She will have no problems with doing drugs down there.

Right i'm not saying this is purely black and white as you can get caught with a minuscule amount of drugs and still be condemned the same as a full blown addict
However, the full story will come out and if she needs help she gets it but sadly the consequences of getting caught with anything is on the harsh side which is supposed to stop you from doing it but people are still going to take that chance

She's hoping to make a living as an interpreter/translator because she's fluent in Japanese and Spanish.

A lot of countries are sadly more concerned with punishing users than helping & rehabilitating them.

A lot of countries are sadly more concerned with punishing users than helping & rehabilitating them. We have so many people that want to legalize drugs, and then you’re saying that these people need help and rehab? Why should anybody else have to pay for self inflicted wounds?

Basic compassion and the understanding that things aren't so black and white?

We have so many people that want to legalize drugs, and then you’re saying that these people need help and rehab? Why should anybody else have to pay for self inflicted wounds? Wow. Because incarcerating people is way more expensive than treatment? Because placing the stigma of a felony on their record makes it exponentially more difficult to find work? Because locking drug addicts up with real criminals is almost the surest way to make sure they become violent offenders themselves? You can beat your chest about self inflicted wounds, but drug addicts don’t disappear just because you’ve decided you’re done with them. They aren’t just going to shuffle off and wait to die, and when you push their backs to the wall bad shit happens.

Ayako Hamada announced on social media that she is returning to the ring next month in Mexico. Just based on some of the pics she's posted, she seems to be in a good state of mind following her drug-related arrest last year.

Did she already serve her sentence? I don't know how good of an option Mexico is for somebody who's trying to get sober but good luck to her.

But she made a post in November of 2018 where she was already back in Mexico. This is all guessing, but perhaps she got part of her sentence suspended by agreeing to return to Mexico.
