And it's come to this. We must really hate Kylo Ren if we're happy to see this guy back.

Holy shit, we will get to see him with hopefully well written dialogue helmed by a director who can direct. Spoilers: he's still pretty bad.

Disney are aware people like Hayden ironically right?

Disney are aware people like Hayden ironically right? Eh, there's a lot of people out there who grew up with the prequels and genuinely see Anakin the way the rest of us see Luke. Plus he's not a bad actor. He's far from great, but he's much, much better than his performances in the prequels suggest.

I'll say this much, both the prequels and likely this series would be improved if Hayden used the same dubious New York Italian accent that he used in the film Little Italy:
"Ey, how you can you be on the council and not have the rank of master? That don't make no sense!"

Eh, the whole cast had to climb a mountain to make that crappy dialogue work. Some actors like Ewan could make it work, younger actors like Hayden and Portman couldn't. Same boat as the Twilight movies really. A lot of those actors have shown they can break away from bad performances and meh movies. (which as an aside, I still consider Episode 3 my second favorite Star Wars film and I'm a dude who saw Return in theaters, so it's not even a generational difference imo.)

Hayden's had a nice redemption story since the prequels. He's been genuinely good in some movies like Shattered Glass and he's been great with the fans at cons and Star Wars Celebrations. I mostly blame Lucas for being an awful actors' director, along with that corny-ass dialogue. Hell, Natalie Portman was mediocre at best in the prequels and she won a freakin' Oscar for Best Actress.
I think an older, more seasoned Hayden combined with better direction and scripts will make for a much better performance.

Another, more recent example: Jango Fett - most people thought he was a cool character, terrible actor. 18 years later people love the same actor's performance as Boba Fett, and are looking forward to him having his own miniseries.

Disney are aware people like Hayden ironically right? Nah, I think people like him because they recognise that he's a decent guy who got stuck with shitty material. He deserves another shot playing Anakin, albeit with someone who knows how to write and direct.

So, OBI-WAN has cast Niobe..... STAR WARS REBELS cast Lucius Vorenus, Titus Pullo and Brutus as Mandalorians.... ROGUE ONE utilized Cassius as the template actor for Tarkin.... And years ago Servilia of the Junii voiced the blue protocol droid at the beginning of THE PHANTOM MENACE (and in real life, is married to the actor who played the pilot who crashed into the Super Star Destroyer in JEDI).... Oh, and another Disney production brought Julius Caesar, Mark Antony, Atia of the Julii and Posca into the world of John Carter of Mars. At this point if they wanna do a Star Wars/John Carter of Mars crossover, it'd be as tremendous a ROME reunion as humanly possible.

Disney are aware people like Hayden ironically right? They really don't. The prequels made Natalie Portman, Samuel L Jackson, and Liam Neeson look like shitty actors. People have a problem with the dialogue George Lucas wrote for Anakin, not Hayden.

Now that I think more of it....
Disney/MCU redeemed Michelle/MJ. They redeemed Darcy.*
Mandalorian redeemed Luke, although the Luke we didn't like comes later in the timeline. And reminded us why we could like Boba Fett.
I wouldn't be shocked to see a decent Christensen Anakin here.
* - these would be personal choices as I didn't like either at first, but they're better in Far From Home and Wandavision, respectively.

I'm most interested in how they're gonna make it work with Hayden.
Can't have Vader and Kenobi meeting up and interacting, not really, unless you really want to water down the "meet again at last" New Hope line as if it's only been a handful of years at most rather than almost twenty. Which would annoy a lot of people.
So it seems either flashback reminiscence from Obi-Wan of his Jedi days with Anakin, and/or Vader being the boss of directing whatever Imperial stuff is happening without knowing it's Obi-Wan involved and Hayden getting to be the burnt Vader for his times in the meditation chamber or bacta tank.
Can't really think of another way to make it fit.
I'm really hoping they'll also sneakily bring back Liam Neeson for some Qui-Gon lines, and maybe Smits and O'Reilly if you want to show some related Rebel goings-on.
I don't think you can have Kenobi galivanting around the universe, Tatooine has to be his base of operations and where he stays. But there's a lot he can still do and things that can happen around there, he's not just having to be stuck in a hut the whole time.

Part of me wants a more quiet and localized Obi-Wan on Tatooine story. In that respect, Qui-Gon would be the best/only(?) option for an outsider appearance, as we know Obi-Wan is further training thru the Force with him. At best we get flashbacks with Anakin.
.......part of me know we're probably getting crazy stuff with all sorts of other people who either interject themselves into Ben's local affairs or draw him off planet to partake in wacky adventures. And that Anakin will be suited up as Vader actively trying to hunt down Obi-Wan. That part doesn't really want that, though, which kinda surprises me, though I know it's getting on with age and not wanting that one early issue of the Marvel Star Wars comic (where indeed Ben was zipping around the galaxy before ANH) to be the norm.
