Last year was a neat coming out party for several performance center recruits nobody had ever seen before and Rhipley stood out as a promising pick among them. Interesting to see what she can do, and what some of the other prospects they've had in waiting have done to improve since.

Cool few announcements; nice to see Nicole Matthews getting the nod this time around, and Io Shirai is kind of a no-brainer. She'll go far, but probably only to the semis, because no way they just redo the Kairi arc all over again with Io.

I'm so glad Nicole Matthews is in there, but I think her best shit is her promos, so unless they let her talk I'm not sure how impressive she'll be. Unless they let her take a sick bump or two...

Yep, watching all of this. I'm a huge fan of the three international talents, and Kacy looks like she's gonna bring a new style of high flying to the women's divisions. She is straight up luchadora esque. Even more than Io.

I like the total zen look on Dakota Kai's face.

It’s weird to see how little representation Canada has had in these tournaments since they started doing them. Matthews will be only the second one after Tyson Dux in the Cruiserweight Classic.
(There was Canadian-born Candice LeRae, but she ended up representing the US)

So happy for Jinny and Nicole, two of my favourite female heels!

I like the total zen look on Dakota Kai's face. I'd smile like that too if Rhea was smooshing my face against her boobies. Here are my stupid ideas for the tournament - Announce both Io Shirai and Jessamyn Duke for the tournament then position the brackets to look like that's the obvious finals so as to mirror the Karai-Shayna finals from the year before. The have both Shirai and Duke lose in upsets in the first round and have the announcers sell this as the field now being wide open. Have Aliyah as the only regular NXT TV girl to be in this tournament. Have her do promo's talking about how her career in NXT has stalled and she thinks she's on the verge of being cut by the WWE and a good showing in this tournament is her last chance to turn things around and potentially save her job. She then has a Cinderella run in the tournament making it to at least round 3 and using this as a starting point for her to get an NXT push. Kevita Devi needs to be in the tournament and have a good run in it. I know she's not the smoothest wrestler around, but clips of her performance in the tournament last year got monster views on YouTube. She has the potential to bring in the Indian audience to the WWE much more then Jinder Mahal does. Xia Li too for similar reasons with the Chinese audience. If she's healthy anyways, I'm seeing some places say she has an arm injury right now. And it's probably a given at this point but I also hope Toni Storm is in this and makes it pretty far as well. Out of all the girls from last years tournament who didn't get an NXT contract she and Jazzy were easily the stand-outs, and I'm not entirely sure what Jazzy's health status is right now.

In terms of Jazzy's health, she's been cleared and has started to wrestle again. Whether that means she's healthy enough to enter this is another story.

I haven’t seen too much of Kacy Catanzaro in the ring (obviously) other than a few clips and pics, but she looks like she can do some really impressive shit. Definitely looking forward to seeing what she can do in a full match.

Can Portia be a commentator? I'll take that over Lita doing commentary again. Plus, Portia would do a better job putting her longtime tag partner over during the tournament, and provide some funny lines.

Drunk Lita and JR as a commentary team was a bad fever dream made reality and I'm really hoping we get other commentators this year. Some people might immediately flinch at the suggestion, but Stephanie did really well as a third wheel during the Women's rumble and showed pretty much no selfishness, so I wouldn't totally mind her being there.

Can Portia be a commentator? Can’t like this enough! I love Portia Perez on commentary. Owner of most of her shirts. Vice President of her imaginary fan club. Congrats Nicole Matthews you’ve come a long way since I saw your SHIMMER debut.

(There was Canadian-born Candice LeRae, but she ended up representing the US) The Bollywood Boyz/Singh Brothers are also Canadian, but they represented India in the Cruiserweight Classic. And just like Dux and the Singhs, I'm expecting Matthews to get knocked out in the first round. Because WWE seems to have this thing against Canada. The Un-Americans, Canadian wrestlers having to change their billed homes when they turn face, Sgt. Slaughter hosting RAW in Calgary and using the entire show to just make fun of Canada...
