Turning yourself in is not an admission of guilt at all. If anything, it's done a lot of the times by high-profile people to make themselves look good: to show that they are cooperating with the authorities because they have nothing to hide.

Apparently he's handed himself in. Assuming his lawyers have told him to be contrite in the hope of leniency. Surprised he didn't try to pull a Roman Polanski and bail out of the States when this all first came up, honestly. Speaking on that, Polanski is a big reason I don't take a lot of the male actors condemning Weinstein seriously. How many actors knowingly went outside the US to make films with Roman Polanski knowing full well that he's a pedophile? To name but a few, Eva Green, Ben Kingsley (three times), Helena Bonham Carter, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, John C Reilly, Christoph Waltz, Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Adrien Brody, Johnny Depp, Hugh Grant, Harrison Ford, and numerous others.

I can't see any way that Weinstein gets a sympathetic jury, even in NYC, but even so, the prosecution had better bring their A-Game.

Speaking on that, Polanski is a big reason I don't take a lot of the male actors condemning Weinstein seriously. How many actors knowingly went outside the US to make films with Roman Polanski knowing full well that he's a pedophile? More than just "male actors" revered the guy. Let's not pretend females weren't anxious to work with him. The industry loved him regardless of what happened with the 13 year old girl. Most people chopped it up to his wife being murdered by the Manson family. He was awarded an Oscar years after the sex with the teenager happened. Lets not be revisionist to placate this movement. That's not ok. Cosby wasn't always a public monster, Polanski was adored by male and female, Morgan Freeman is one of the best of his generation. A persons actions doesn't erase everything that came before. Re writing history is the first of many dangerous steps into totalitarian society. Is Polanski a shit head? Yep. Did he get away with banging a drugged 13 year old? Yep. Did men and women disregard it for 40 years? Yep. And still would if not for the industry eating itself alive after the me too movement weeding out the controversies every day. On topic. I can see Harvey killing himself rather than lose his Prescious power he has had over everyone.

Send him down, preferably for a long time. For all of his bluster about innocence and denying the claims, turning himself in essentially admits his guilt. It's never nice to see that someone you admire is in fact a monster, but I hope that the judge comes down on him hard. I mean, if you know there is a warrant out for your arrest and you are innocent, generally you don't start running either. This isn't true. Polanski is guilty, I see no reason to believe Weinstein isn't too, but this statement just isn't true. The legal systems in many countries are pretty f***ed up, plenty of innocent people run, especially in certain demographics but that's going to spin us off into politics so I'll leave it there.

Not impossible, but if he was just going to do that, he had ample opportunity already to do it on his terms.

Shes also heaped tons of praise and referred to Weinstein as a "god" over the years. I know I'm usually the lone voice in the crowd, but she's a goddamn fraud who gets treated like a social movement icon because she's now saying the "correct" stuff politically speaking. (Mods, delete the last few words if I stepped too far. I apologize if that's the case)

That he's getting at least five years for the criminal sexual act is good (hopefully much longer), but the idea that he could get probation for rape is absolutely insane.
