He had the best career he could have possibly had. He was the Tommy from Cobra Kai. The annoying little shit who cheerleads for the bigger, tougher, bullies, and he played that role very well in two of the most famous and industry changing factions in the history of wrestling.

Of course, he had the talent to do more, unfortunately he was a drug addict during his days in the wwe and wcw, he just did drugs and partied then whenever he got fired, his buddies just got him a new job.

He had a good career, he was a big part of the Monday Night Wars, that’s a pretty good career.

I was a Waltman mark from his first jobber match in WWF as the Whatever-Kid since he LOOKED like an actual kid and I was also a kid
Then when he came back looking like a poor man's Zach De La Rocha with a knock off RATM theme song I was all in.
He was uber popular when he came back to the WWF and joined DX, but THEN he turned heel and it all went to shit.

eh... yes and no. He could have done more but he was never going to be the world champ. had he not had his demons or injuries bogging him down maybe he'd be able to be an ic contender forever... but then there's stuff like his gimmick never really evolving past the same late 90s scuzzball since he became Syxx. Eh, he had everything he ever wanted and he'll never give that baaaaack... well I know you hate that fact X-Factor! But you ain't gotta look at me like that....

Yeah, I just got straight up tired of X-Pac. He was like one of those guys who had a great time with people enjoying something but they could never let it go when it was time. Him and Road Dogg trying to keep the long dead corpse of DX going was just sad. Him still being the same guy even after DX was finally done and gone was just boring by that point.

He really reached his peak as for as how high he could go but really could have been a longer run. I never saw him as a great talker so Main Eventer wasn't his level. I-C title maybe but he had a great career. His biggest issue was his personal demons and the fact he never changed, From Syxx to X-pac the look didn't change that much or his character. I think if he did more to keep himself fresh the whole Xpac heat wouldn't have happened because I think apart of the reason that happened because we where sick of the same old crap.

X-Pac is one of the top guys I took me a long time to actually appreciate, because even when he was a face, I still hated him as a kid. I think for a guy his size he more than exceeded what his cap was in that era. Sure he probably could have gotten an Intecontinenfal Title run at some point between 1998-2000, but I’d argue that at his highest height, he was more important than the IC title.
Thiugh they definitely could have found better ways to use him after DX ended.

Watching old 98-99 raws and x-pac may be one of the worst promo guys ever. Not always so much in delivery (that would be shamrock or Blackman lol) but in just how lame everything he says is.
So many times in backstage dx promos hed have the final word and it's kill the crowd who were all over what dx were saying. If he stuck to the catchphrases he was ok but outside of that he was like a 10yo trying to sound threatening
Plus, I'm assuming it's mentioned, but turning on kane killed him dead

I think he was a huge talent. Despite his reputation as an entitled little shit, I think he was really generous in the ring, too. I can think of a few guys I was super impressed by and became big marks for (like Hakushi or Blackman)... but it was one Waltman match where they looked like a million bucks that did it.
Thing is, it's not just that he didn't change his gimmick. It's that dX was always a stupid gimmick, but it was new for a while so people didn't care. So the gimmick he wouldn't change was long-tired by the time people realized they were tired of it.
