They are Tokyo Ghoul/Fullmetal Alchemist the story it seems which makes no sense when you have a complete story I'm not a "purist snob" but c'mon now you had one job. This isn't Norman from the manga either (you know what i'm talking about) this is Norman as he looked before he got sent away With Norman being back it changes the whole story and if i'm being honest I am sort of checked out on it tho last episode was a recap so next one i'm willing to see how the next episode goes but yeah No Yugo, Isabella is back already, Norman is back, and potentially no Goldy Ponds. Big big changes for those that have not read the manga and only watched the anime Dude... Dude...Watch it and be as disappointed as I am There is a chance to turn the story around but the pacing has been slow and doesn't have the same magic of Season 1, not even counting the numerous changes they made

Some of those changes seem...man, I don't know.

Some of those changes seem...man, I don't know. Season 1 is great. It follows the Manga faithfully almost literally panel for panel and word for word. It was paced perfectly That's the big moment that ends Episode one in season 1 after they found out about the "demons". Perfect hook for a show Sister Krone was essentially drawn to perfection in how she was in the manga Season 2 has hit none of these moments yet. With them in a bigger world and finding new demons you expect it to be better but it just feels "vanilla"

I repeat, for those who only watched the Anime, you might want to check out the Manga at some point
This looks to be going Tokyo Ghoul Re/Fullmetal Alchemist (First series) route, more so Tokyo Ghoul Re as they look to be changing and skipping parts of the story

Yup. I’m basically done watching this season until the whole thing is finished
The BS continued to stack up with another major mistake

I haven't gotten around to watching the new season yet, but I basically haven't seen anyone say anything good about it. Pretty disappointing.

It skips a lot of the manga while also jumping several chapters ahead and making decisions earlier than intended Even just judging it without the source material, it is slow

Like, I can understand them wanting to change stuff because there are moments you can expand or shrink but some of it just feels like real cutting of stuff that added the depth of the story which just feels crazy to me.

The story of this production will probably be fascinating in the weirdest ways of who up top decided and approved of this whole thing because man... man. My anime/manga knowledge isn’t exactly strong but I can’t think of anything else that scrubbed that much of the actual source material away from an adaptation.

Tokyo Ghoul It is almost exactly following that path. First season received high praise and then the 2nd season they started making changes which people did not like. They basically had to retcon some things and then rushed to finish the story in the last two seasons The thing is with TPN, you have a complete story done. You had no reason to rush this or go so different from the story. Just a bad creative decision that really doesn't have people happy

Maybe in 20 years it'll get a remake like Fruits Basket? Kind of the best you can hope for at this point I guess.

I can see it getting the FMA Brotherhood remake in about 10 years but FMA anime ended up being a whole different ending and story compared to the original which is why they went back and did it This is just telling the story but alternating a lot of events It is disappointing the anime went this way but I think in a roundabout way it will put more eyes on the Manga as people can get the full complete story there

Yea, they really skipped a lot
This looks like it could be the 2nd and last season
They could made this 4 seasons at the most so I wonder what the rush was for a show that was highly thought of

Nothing about this franchise makes sense. It was one of the biggest things in the industry for a while but they still rushed it to a hasty, largely unsatisfying conclusion when they could have easily gone a lot longer and made things that much better, and now the anime has apparently shit the bed. What gives?

What gives? Only thing I can think of is bad creative on the part of the studio If i'm not mistaken TPN Manga was still high in sales leading up its conclusion so it is not like it fell off a cliff. Like I said before this feels like Tokyo Ghoul where for some reason they took a very popular property that had a great first season and decided to revamp it for reasons If source material was lacking, sure. BUT you knew when you was animating this that TPN was going to end so why rush it The conclusion in the manga i'm fine with, it was expected and as good as can be. Sure you could told more story but there wasn't really a need

Sure you could told more story but there wasn't really a need And with the Manga, they’re at least using the opportunity to tell more story, there’s another part coming in March I believe, to at least try and build from the ending to expand it along with other stuff in that universe. But all this? It’s hard to comprehend. Mostly because it feels like there was a season at the very least you could do from leaving to the school and arriving to the bunker and being forced to evacuate, never mind everything else they’ve gone through already. Like, if anything, I expected the anime to expand on a lot the manga did to try and either fill some gaps or expand on some narratives (more on the schools setting up the search for the most kids, reactions from Grace House) or even put some of the newer manga chapters into the actual show to flesh it out more. But this is wild, man. I’m trying to read more manga and happened to randomly pick this one to read all of and...it sort of hurts to see it treated like this right now?
