Only thing I can think of is bad creative on the part of the studio If i'm not mistaken TPN Manga was still high in sales leading up its conclusion so it is not like it fell off a cliff. Like I said before this feels like Tokyo Ghoul where for some reason they took a very popular property that had a great first season and decided to revamp it for reasons If source material was lacking, sure. BUT you knew when you was animating this that TPN was going to end so why rush it The conclusion in the manga i'm fine with, it was expected and as good as can be. Sure you could told more story but there wasn't really a need And with the Manga, they’re at least using the opportunity to tell more story, there’s another part coming in March I believe, to at least try and build from the ending to expand it along with other stuff in that universe. But all this? It’s hard to comprehend. Mostly because it feels like there was a season at the very least you could do from leaving to the school and arriving to the bunker and being forced to evacuate, never mind everything else they’ve gone through already. Like, if anything, I expected the anime to expand on a lot the manga did to try and either fill some gaps or expand on some narratives (more on the schools setting up the search for the most kids, reactions from Grace House) or even put some of the newer manga chapters into the actual show to flesh it out more. But this is wild, man. I’m trying to read more manga and happened to randomly pick this one to read all of and...it sort of hurts to see it treated like this right now? This is more so why I stopped really watching Anime years ago up until the last few years with stuff like My Hero Academia Problem was you would have shows and either they would be filler content to take up a whole season (Naruto and Bleach) or they would only adapt one season of a show and leave it hanging Manga at least you get a full story even if the ending may come rushed at points. But with this it doesn't make much sense due to how popular this manga became in a relative short shelf life. There was no reason to rush this out when you already have the manga finished Like I said before only thing I can think of is a creative decision and maybe they weren't thrilled with the content and wanted to get it over with The backlash is so bad on this that fans want the anime cancelled

Looking forward to it, if only to see just how badly it was bungled. I survived season 2 of Rosario + Vampire (utter panty shot hell), this should be a cakewalk in comparison.

So hey, I just heard what happened in the Season 2 finale and hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boy! {Spoiler} So remember Isabelle’s sacrifice to save the children from a demon and her redemption as a part of that where Emma forgave her and it was a big thing that was actually really touching? Yeah, she’s fine and lives.
Oh, and Emma’s big sacrifice of her memories so she can go to the human world? You know, the thing that even in this thread we were mixed about? Yeah, doesn’t happen. No sacrifice needed, no deals made, the kids are just able to go to the human world and Emma stays to help free other kids from demons. And she goes to the human world in a few years with no idea what she actually did in the demon world during that time.
Awesome. And when I say that I mean “What the F*** happened, man?!”

Apparently the last couple of episodes had the creator's name removed from the opening credits and have no writers listed in the ending ones which makes you wonder what the hell happened there.

Something went real wrong Still don't know why they did the anime like this when the anime was ending, they had no reason to rush this It’ll be a really fascinating story if it’s allowed to be told, though. Like, it’d be like if the Dragon Ball Z anime skipped past Namek and the Androids and just had Cell and Buu in separate episodes. Such weird choices that change the entire complexion of the story.

Yeah, like I am waiting a little while to give a breakdown in terms of what the hell the anime skipped from the Manga and how significant it was

I am two episodes into season 2 and the cringe is so real. Nani the f***, indeed.
Can only hope this eventually results in an FMA/FMA:B situation.

What the hell even was that last episode? Who thought shoving an ungodly amount of plot into a few minute montage was a good idea?

Wait. You mean, what I just watched on Toonami Saturday was the legit... end of the show? What? Seriously? I thought there'd be more somewhere down the line, like. I knew the jist of what happened in the manga and I just assumed it'd be back for another season eventually. It never crossed my mind that that'd be the end. Well, damn, that's a serious bummer.

Just for my manga reading curiousity. English Dub most likely, I believe that was penultimate episode Reading, this is the part when they break into the farm to get the children back but there is a big change from the Manga as damn near the whole season was Edit, Oh wait, that was last episode so I spoilered that for nothing {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Next episode is the last episode
Peter gets killed but Isabella survives. Emma, Norman and Ray stay behind to forge a new promise and rescue kids from farms
The ones they did rescue are in the human world and years have passed. Last scene is a teenage Phil greeting Emma who finished her mission so no Emma forgetting her memory so everyone else can be free

Read the Manga, they heavily changed and diverted from that I have no reason why they did it. If they followed the Manga they would have had 3 seasons at least, possibly 4 to do for a finish.

What the hell even was that last episode? Who thought shoving an ungodly amount of plot into a few minute montage was a good idea? Are you able to give a description of what happened? Just for my manga reading curiousity. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}so in the previous episode, Isabella betrayed Peter Ratri and helped the children after explaining to the other mothers that the chips in their chests were deactivated. Demons cured by Mujika's blood break in and Peter's plans are all thwarted now, so in the final episode, he explains that Minerva was his brother who'd discovered the children being kept in these farms were actually their descendants and not of the people who'd fought against the promise made with the demons, then commits suicide. They find the gate to the human world and use the Minerva key to open it, but Norman, Ray, Emma, Mujika all decide to remain behind and help "remake the promise" between demons and humans, and Emma asks Isabella to go along too and take care of the children, that they'll need a mother. Little Phil spends a few minutes crying and not wanting to let them go but Emma swears they'll reunite some day so he finally goes through as well. There's a rushed kinda montage of both what's happening in the human world and with Emma's group, then ends with Emma and Mujika standing in the sun, foreheads pressed together happily, and then we see Phil a little older, and he turns to find Emma and the rest of the group standing behind him, and they all reunite and... end scene. There was a quick cut of the gate, I think, afterwards, but I guess it was just ... to show there was peace on the other side or something. I guess it doesn't matter now.
