Of course the earth is flat. If the earth was round how else would we be able to stay on the planet with sliding off? A magical force that causes us to stick to the planet? Think people.

Surely they'd have to work their way sideways? I'd answer that question but none of my maps have New Zealand for me to check. I've always found that amusing how at times map makers have forgotten that my home country exists. But seriously anyone who believes such nonsense like this should be immediately involuntarily committed to the nearest loony bin for the rest of their lives. |

Can we just... stop talking about Flat-Earthers? I feel like this is becoming the new 9/11 "Truthers" where it used to be funny to laugh at them, but now I'm afraid we're starting to legitimize them by giving them undue attention and they'll start being treated seriously by the media in the name of "fairness" (even though it's in no way fair to treat nutjob theories with zero evidence behind it as having equal value to repeatedly proven and easily observable and/or repeatable scientific knowledge) and "freedom of expression" (even though nothing about giving idiots the right to talk means you should give them a platform).
On top of that, I'm still not convinced that more than 1% of them aren't trolling, and if there's one thing worse than glorifying ignorance, it's glorifying obnoxiousness.

So last year my flight from Newark to Santiago Chile non stop would have taken like 10 and a half hours. A flight to Australia would take mr to LAX and has a 15 hour flight. So I would be flying around for 9 extra hours just to go to roughly the same place because big globe?

Because they believe there's a grand conspiracy to stop them getting near and reporting on it, usually involving the treaties protecting the polar regions from exploitation.
