I like the idea of keeping the WW movies as period movies, makes it easy to distance them from the DCEU, but wish they hadn’t jumped straight to the 80’s. There’re great stories to be mined using any decade between the first movie and BvS Yeah, but they didn't want to do Wonder Woman 1968, as she would have to lose her powers, dress in mod fashion, and be trained by a blind martial artist.

There’re great stories to be mined using any decade between the first movie and BvS But if you go by radio stations and most TV stations, culture didn't exist before the 80s. Maybe barely the 70s but that's it! Elvis, the Beatles, and the Stones existed outside of the realm of time and space.

....which isn't technically another WB/DC blunder, I guess? That was its original release date, and in theory a better release date since it's at the start of the summer movie season.
