They don't need a huge FA to contend. Jeremy Lamb would be a good add for them, or Darren Collison. And there's a lot of depth bigs out there, Favors and such.

Who cares what happens? Lonzo is out of LA, “when you’re replacing nothing, that makes you something”.

Also I don't want to hear no bitching and/or crying
Despite the big AD news to the Lakers, the thread is still titled for Toronto winning the chip and will stay that way until I make the next thread

I admit I was wrong with Russell but I never doubted Randle. Lonzo will not turn things around he sucks. If he has a career year I don’t know what I will do.

Luke is not as bad a coach as they tried to make him out to be but he was a scapegoat this year for sure I'm starting to come around to your reasoning of Jeannie being a bad owner and doing too much but then again she proved she likes hearing friends instead of people qualified for the job. Magic ran because he heard Jeannie didn't love him no more yet he wasn't there to run the team anyway Magic was almost worst than Phil. I'm not giving him full credit for bringing in LeBron when it seemed most likely he was coming there anyway

Take Russell and Randle away from him and somehow they improved a lot. If Lonzo and Ingram improve then there’s a thread here.

Lebron seemed like he was going to LA for his family and because of business opportunities outside of basketball. And I guess the Lakers had more cap room to sign him over the Clippers.

He went even start practicing until March/April and even then he's not playing no more than 15 mins or so

I kinda want to see KD embrace the "he's a bitch chasing rings" image and just keep bouncing to the current #1 team all the while having his 100 alt-twitter accounts saying it's all just a coincidence.

Didnt see it mentioned but by the AD trade getting done so quickly the Lakers actually lose cap space. The Lakers are now projected to have 23.7 mil in cap scpscr had they waited till the end of July they would have had 32.5

Either way, as a Lakers fan, the sun's setting on this fandom. I honestly don't think you should be too upset at this point. Do I think the talk of the Lakers being instant favorites to win it all is premature until the roster is filled out? Yes. Do I think the Lakers have a poor coaching staff? Yes. I think Vogel, Kidd, and Hollins are all vastly overrated. Do I have questions about Anthony Davis? Some. Not about his talent, but I do think it is valid to question him as someone who can take a team to the next level AT THIS POINT (key word). BUT if LeBron returns to form and AD is able to adapt the Lakers have a chance to be good this year and next. If they don't get a title though it will all be for nothing... that deal they gave up is insane

The Lakers are now projected to have 23.7 mil in cap scpscr had they waited till the end of July they would have had 32.5 That's a bold move. Then again, trading essentially 8 firsts is even more bold. But the Lakers want so badly to push now and be relevant now that they're betting on AD/Bron making them a destination. If you wait until a month after free agency starts to have more money, those max players might (and probably would) be gone already. They have a better shot at getting a 3rd name now than they do waiting. And they've got such tunnel vision, that's all that matters.
