JR and Paul Heyman are so much better than JR and Lawler.

JR and Paul Heyman are so much better than JR and Lawler. It helps that Heyman is a proper heel and knows when to shut up and take what JR's giving him as insults and retorts. Paul can give JR all the shit about his cowboy hat and being an Okie boy, but it only takes a sentence or two to make put Paul in his place.

ECW and WCW just merged.
The coolest name they could come up with was The Alliance? C'mon now. You didn't even try.
I'm fine with Stephanie being ECW Owner, but there shouldn't have been a merger. It should've been a three way war.

When I hit 2002, I'm going to take at least one screengrab per show.

I needed a break to get me over the hump from SummerSlam 2001 to Unforgiven 2001.
So I checked out where I was in my WCW watch, and finished Starrcade 1996. I don't need to see Hogan spit ever again.

It's Time It's Time It's Maven Time I can see my fantasy, I'm so consumed in it. What I see takes over me, I'm blind beyond repair.

Three shows until Survivor Series 2001.
Oh my god, end the pain. It's so boring!

I've been neglecting this thread, but I've still been watching. At WrestleMania X-8!

Less than 45 minutes into WM18, Saliva and Drowning Pool have preformed. WRESTLE! WRESTLEEEE!
Also, Drowning Pool's leader singer looks like Bray Wyatt.

No Way Out was awesome! Oh, I intend to watch the RAW first. But I dunno if I should watch the RAW and the Nitro, or if I should save the Nitro until I do my Nitro watch (I stopped in 1996 around Halloween Havoc). I would wait until you get there in the Nitro run. It's not worth watching more than once (although I've seen it a load of times because I was watching at the time and rewatch shit a lot) and I think that to contextualise just HOW strange an episode it was you need to have seen all of Nitro leading up to it. Like I know it'd be a weird episode to see compared to October 1996, but it's even surreal compared to earlier in 2001. And No Way Out 2001 is a pretty great show, yeah! Even the shitty matches have a hot crowd. I have no idea why they didn't let Trips and Austin main event. Because the Rock vs Angle was far more important in terms of setting up the Wrestlemania main event. Had it ended with HHH beating Austin it would have required JR to talk about "HHH may have beaten Austin, but Austin will challenge The Rock next month at Wrestlemania!" Which would be an odd way to end the show.

I've been real bad about documenting, but I've been watching. For awhile I tried to do the episodes adjacently, but WCW just sucks your life out. So I watched WWE into 2002 and I'm going to finish Nitro now.
WWE
Last RAW viewed: 6/17/02 Last SmackDown viewed: 6/13/02
So I have one SmackDown to go and then it's King of the Ring, but I'll be waiting on this till I'm done with WCW.
WCW Currently: Spring Stampede, 4/11/99.
Oh my god, I'm getting closer and closer to Russo's first run and I'm scared.

I just finished Survivor Series 2000. Does Austin's vehicular mayhem know no bounds? A horrific fall like that must have crippled Triple H, or at least kept him out for a long time....right? Was this one of the all time classic 'Triple H comes out with a giant plaster on his forehead a day or two after a major incident' moments? Genuinely can't remember.

Yes, he returned on Raw 8 days later. Oddly enough, after the next PPV on Dec. 10, he disappeared from TV until Jan. 8.

Three shows until Survivor Series 2001. Oh my god, end the pain. It's so boring! It felt like everyone had a title at the time to where it meant nothing, I think even Foley mentions it in a promo before Survivor Series. I liked the Rock/Jericho match on the 11/5/01 Raw where Jericho goes apeshit and beats the Rock down with a steel chair after their WCW title match.
