Yeah, the Starfire race thing doesn’t matter at all and it’s stupid that’s people are making a thing of it. Take issue with aspects sure - the fake-ass wig and stupid coat are terrible and all - but end of the day what the hell does it matter if her skin isn’t orange?

I never got the impression that Starfire was supposed to be black, though I think I watched the early 2000s animated series before reading any actual Teen Titans comic books, so that may have formed my opinion on the matter. Also, the whole...she's an alien...thing. I don't have anything against a black woman playing the role, though, and I think these "fans" are being assholes. The show looks stupid and the costumes look cheap, but that's not Anna Diop's fault. I mean, Starfire never was meant to be black, ever. George Perez admitted that she’s basically an orange-skinned Red Sonja. Don’t pay the author of that article much mind. They’re just reading too much into the whole sexy full lips and massive mane of curly hair(on a character created in the god damn 80s where everyone had massive manes of curly hair regardless of ethnicity or gender) Starfire had in her early designs. Now as for these racist asshats they can take a long walk off a short plank into a sea full of freaking robot sharks with freaking lasers on their heads. There are several problems with this show’s Starfire and the actress’ race is most certainly not one of them. They managed to take a naturally stunning woman and make her look like a caricature of a cheap hooker... And apparently this isn’t even her real outfit in the show and yet it is the only one they keep showing in all the promotional material? So I don’t know who to believe.

Starfire is an orange alien, so with a lack of with a lack of orange alien actresses to fill the role I'd say actresses of any race or ethnicity would be acceptable substitutes. You could argue that if Gamorrah can be green with a black actress there should be no problem. I think there would be strong backlash(maybe not a smuch) if she was white. Most people just want Starfire to be orange as she is in basically every incarnation of the character Of course orange skin wouldnt save how cheap she looks

Starfire is a f***ing alien it don't matter what color the person is who plays her F****ing idiots
an Alien with a skin color that literally doesn't exist in nature... so yeah any race could play her since no one is going to be able to play her entirely accurately. The rest of the costume looking like a 0 budget fan film I get people bitching about... but even that isn't on the Actress.

Hollywood looked at The Dark Knight and went "Well developed characters that expanded a universe in a way most films haven't done? Nah, it's the DARK AND GRITTY elements people loved!"

I don't even think of Nolans trilogy as dark. Gritty at times perhaps. But it fell far too much into uber realism to be dark.

That trailer is the funniest thing I have seen all year long. Wow. It's amazing how wrong everything is. That guy Robin stepped on has bones made out of ruffled potato chips.
The quality looks like a neglected CW show, which is where I thought it was going. THIS is supposed to entice people to sign up for another streaming service?

When CBS pulled the same stunt with Star Trek: Discovery, they at least put a ton of money into casting name value actors and movie-quality production values. This just looks cheap. Barely above YouTube fan film-level cheap. The only worse attempt that I can think of is MGM's attempt to get a StarGate streaming service off the ground with StarGate Origins, but that at least had the benefit of actually being a fan film that MGM simply gave the okay to.

Batman is shooting these dudes point blank with a tank or driving at them high speed and they get electrocuted
Them dudes is dead

From what I understand, Robin supposedly shot above their heads to scare them. You know, because THAT couldn't possibly backfire and result in collateral damage and/or civilian casualties, the exact OPPOSITE thing Bruce taught him. But no, f$#@ Batman.

In one of the Arkham games, I was fighting a group of dudes by the river. During one of the combos, I knocked a dude out and he plunged thirty feet or whatever into said river unconscious. It was like: "Welp, that f***er's dead." His last words? "f*** Batman."

I think there are too many problems that Starfire's actress' race is low on the totem pole...….especially with her being a CGI catastrophe
